Ok not greatPeterThe chair looks great, cushion cover is nice but the filling flattens out completely when you sit down( 140 pound person) The back of the chair hits in the wrong places when you sit back. Pretty, but not a place to relax and hang out. Also the chair is very lightweight and flexes considerably when you stand or sit, unlike better wicker or rattan chairs.3
Great Design and REAL rattanSabineLove love this armchair. Beautiful and very well made. And it's real rattan and not the fake plastic rattan that is sold everywhere today. It's actually very comfortable if you place a 20x20 pillow at back. It really makes a statement- I have them in bedrooms and living room. Added 2 banana fiber stools (stacked) in front in one bedroom and in living room for lounging. Can't say enough good things about this armchair. Worth every penny.5

The cushion is the problemAnonymousThe chair itself is great. It’s a very light color rattan, comfortable and attractive, a bit on the low side. The problem here is the cushion. The cushion does not look like the one in the photo - it looks limp and sad. Sitting on it is fine for me (120 lbs) but my husband (160 lbs) finds it very uncomfortable. I’m glad I bought the chair but the cushion isn’t worth it; I’ll be looking for an aftermarket replacement or a hack to stuff the cushion better.4

It is also sturdy and comfortable--all you need is a nice, fuzzy afgan or throw to sub as a back-cushion. I don't recommend it for people over 130 pounds...heavier people may find a higher, multi-cushioned chair to be more comfortable.5
Looks good, feels cheapAnonymousTerribly uncomfortable. The seat cushion is so cheap that you can feel the rattan support bars through the seat. This chair looks great as a side chair, but you won't want it if you plan to actually use it. Big disappointment.2

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.
