Reviews

PLEASE don't discontinue!RachelI literally just created an account to leave a review so I could beg IKEA to keep making this shelf in metal. I have the white version in my home office and love it; came to get a second one and see that it's gone. In 2021 I needed a vertical tower for 2 big printers and BROR was the only one I could find. It's been solid as a rock for 3-4 years with lots of weight on it. Assembly was easy (you need a rubber-headed mallet but that's a basic tool). The shelves haven't bowed a bit and it doesn't shake while the printers are working. The shelves are spread enough to let me access the tops of the printers (one is a 3-in-1 for copying and scanning). Plus it looks great in my modern, clean-lines, white home office. I'm worried the wood shelves on the new model will bow and warp.5
Poor quality and designLouisSTAY AWAY. Very flimsy for a metal shelf. Display in-store is bolted to the wall so misleading level of structural integrity. Instructions show different parts than are included. And good luck with Ikea customer support, complete inability to communicate, an hour and half just to get to the point where they realized the issue and offered a refund.1
Complete junk.BrianThis thing is advertised as “heavy duty” but it’s flimsy junk. I would not trust this to hold anything, complete waste of money. I bought it on sale for $50 and I still feel like I was robbed. I’m not sure what kind of qc ikea has but the metal is thin it bends on its own like a long tape measure. This product is so bad it prompted me to make an account so that I could write this review.1
Unstable POSMichaelThis is by far the worst shelving unit I've ever used. The shelves don't fully seat into the rails so if you put the slightest upward pressure on the shelf it will come out and there's no way to fasten them to the side rails so they're constantly just loose waiting to be knocked off. The super thin sheet metal doesn't provide any type of support and the entire unit is completely unstable. I have the 43" tall model and it wobbles around all over the place, I can't imagine how unsafe the full-sized one is. It's no wonder why these are being phased out, they're AWFUL. Avoid at all costs. There are cheaper and better options on Amazon. 1
FlimsyXianHard to believe this is IKEA quality 2
Garbage DianaThis shelf is garbage. I read several negative reviews, but decided to give it a shot anyway. The holes and notches don’t align properly. 1
Flimsy, but fixableQuadrayThe unit is nice, but pretty flimsy. I was able to make the unit a lot sturdier by screwing the Stabilizers (might have worded that wrong) individually into the lower part of the sides of the unit, rather than combining them and screwing them into the back of the unit. If the unit came with stabilizers for the back AND sides it would be perfect.3
hassell to assembleAnonymous revieweronce constructed it works like a charm. the metal is thin which has its pros and cons. but the assembly is not great. hammering metal sheets together is loud and strenuous. my cross sections also did not fit together very well after assembly so i had to fight with them for a little bit. but it is a good size and is lightweight once you get it together. probably wouldn't buy it again though. 3
Perfect for our utility room organization!KimWe really love the Bror shelving! It's sturdy and surprisingly easy to assemble with 2 people. We reorganized our utility/laundry room. Looks great!5
Poorly fabricatedPageI am normally a huge ikea advocate, even of the more tedious items but this was definitely an "L" for me. The metal is poorly machined (punch outs/holes were crooked or not fully detached, elements did not align), and the support frames arrived bent even though the packaging was fully intact and seemingly undamaged. Unless you have no other choice, spend the extra money to get a utility shelf from a bigger home improvement store. Once assembled (after some modifications) its fine, looks ok and does its job but was a headache to get to that point. 2
Very wobblyBethanyI usually love IKEA products, but this is the worst one I have ever used. I bought three of these shelves and they are incredibly wobbly and thin. They do not stay together well and the center shelf support is constantly falling down. No matter what I have tried they still twist and bend, even when anchored to the wall. Would not recommend. 1
Totally worth itTadotsayI bought one of these when they first came out. I use it in the kitchen as additional pantry space. It is extremely easy to put together. All you need a a mallet. I ended up using it to store my pots, pans, crackpot, and cast iron. It has lasted quite well. So I bought an additional one just recently. The shelves hold a microwave, toaster, can goods. I also bought one for my craft room which also hold very heavy items. I understand some people had problems putting it together and it seems flimsy at first but it is not in the end. I did it myself by hammering in the top pieces then the bottom. Then the middle.5
Worst IKEA product I’ve come acrossYoungSo flimsy. We were trying to align the corner pieces so they can all sit flush and went to step on it and it completely distorted….this is the WORST product I’ve ever come across and I cannot believe I spent $400 on a garage system this flimsy. You’re better off buying a sturdy industrial one odd OfferUp or Lowe’s bc this is absolute trash. I’m pretty livid rn that I completely wasted money on such a trash product. I don’t feel comfortable with my 2 kids around as this is being used in the garage as a part of our storage and home gym setup.1
Dont buy this if you value your timeAdamMetal is flimsier than a paperclip, i could literally deform the pieces with my fingers. Unless you are storing very light materials stay away. Also was missing several pieces and had sharp metal sticking out. Worse than something you could get on wish.com1
Using it in my garageNeringaI decided to use it in my garage. Needed something not super heavy / in a limited space to hold my husbands organised tools, bolts etc. Easy to asemble and most important it comes in the compact packaging. I matched with Ikea containers and im happy overall , so i went and bought another one.5
