Poor instructions and manufacturingDouglasI would consider myself an IKEA assembly expert and these were nearly as possible to assemble. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. All comments are spot on. Holes don’t align. First two step were nearly impossible and had to buy a metal file remove raised edges and use pliers to expand the square wholes on nearly all to get them to go together. Only one of the 9 I’ve done so far did not require lots of extra work. And the mounting bracket holes nearly never aligned and made getting the screws in the most important part nearly impossible without stripping the heads. I’m 6ish hours in do 9 cabinets and have 3 to go. And still have bottoms, shelf and doors to do once mounted. I’m hoping at this point that they last once they are mounted and in use. Very disappointed in IKEA.3
Impossible to out together due to wrong hole locationHaoThis is the first time I tried to assemble an IKEA furniture and I couldn’t because of the misalignment for the holes. This piece of cabinet is impossible to assemble due to the misalignment.1

Terrible quality product, Instructions Are So BadBradyI bought a 2-unit Bror shelving unit with this cabinet in each. This was a nightmare to put together. The metal is super cheap and flimsy and the holes don't always align when you're trying to screw everything together which then easily warps and rips the metal. It looks good in pictures and once it's assembled. But, it was NOT worth the hassle. Hopefully, it will hold together and it wasn't a complete waste of money.1
Too hard to put together JessiI have put together a lot of IKEA furniture over the years and this was hands-down the hardest one I’ve ever done there are still several loose pieces just sitting in my garage because I could not figure out where they went. The directions were confusing because it was clear they were formatted for when you’re using this as a set, but I was using it as an individual cabinet2
Bent piece made building impossibleLuciaI was really looking forward to having this cabinet in my home! However, a key piece is bent out of shape and I cannot get past the first step of construction. I hav tried multiple times to contact customer service to have the part fixed, but I am not being helped. 1
Good product CynthiaIt was given as a gift to a family member, love the adjustable shelves. It’s a super sturdy piece.4
poor quality control, difficult to orderStevewe were looking forward to this as a solution for a specific location, and i guess we’ll order a replacement, however, when the cabinet arrived the first piece out of the box (one of the two bottom frame pieces) was bent in a way that makes assembly impossible; it’s clearly a manufacturing defect and not shipping damage (bent in a way shipping wouldn’t cause, and paint is intact); the hassle of having to return this and re-order makes it much less of a good deal on top of that, it was hard to order this product; after calling and visiting the store, no one could explain why the website and app showed the product as deliverable to our address, but then changed its mind on checkout; an in-store rep was very helpful and tipped us off the local warehouse was getting a fresh delivery in a few days, and we were able to order about a week later, but it was a chore to work all this out — inventory system needs work3
Love these black metal cabinets.JessicaLove these black metal cabinets. Assembly wasn’t too hard, definitely follow the directions on not tightening anything until the end. Two people needed to hang them.5
Great CabinetAliceLooks great and helps hide stuff5
Nice cabinetAlessandraWe bought this cabinet for our garage. It is beautiful and useful. We could choose the height of the shelf and it was not very hard to assemble.5
Great cabinet - needs good supportsMaryIf you’re using this cabinet without the stand, be sure to add some extra anchoring. Didn’t have enough accessible holes to secure, in my opinion, and I worried it would pull out of the wall. We secured it with a U-shaped wood support underneath and it seems very secure. Nice looking cabinet.4
Poor Quality Everything.Anonymous reviewerI purchased several of these for an Art studio to house tools. I have so many gripes with this product that I don't know where to begin. On every one, the black rubber feet would be too loose on some corners, holes that were supposed to line up would not line up, there were numerous scuffs and damages to the paint (many happened when paint was applied because it was smeared and dried (I have photos). The door handles were another reason I chose to buy this, because there was a hole present to put on a padlock, but standard padlocks do not work with the weird square shape of the handle, so I literally had to buy extra hasps, drill holes, and bolt them on. And in terms of heavy duty? What a joke...I feel like I could bend this with my mind--the metal is very thin and the bulk of the construction requires you to push tabs of the thin metal with a screwdriver into holes in other parts of the cabinet. The door hinges are also attached the same way, with bent tabs of metal, so it's only a matter of (very brief) time before these start ending up in landfills or put out on the street for local scrapper tweakers to collect en mass... The only think this cabinet has going for it is that it fits the very specific places that I needed storage and they don't look terrible (unless yours has scuffed or damaged paint on it's visible sides).1
Subpar InstructionsAmandaOnce put together this cabinet is great! Got for my school Makerspace to house tech items for my middle schoolers. It is sturdy and solid. It took me HOURS to assemble. The pieces are not labeled so there was massive confusion between the shelf and the floor. It is also hard to tell when you're supposed to install the bottom (not until the end) because it looks like you do it early but really it's just a terrible drawing showing you to install the back. I purchased 2 cabinets. On one, the holes for the bolts that hold the doors on were too small and I had to have them drilled out to accommodate the pin. Once it was assembled I was happy but the assembly was a nightmare.3

BROR Cabinet with 2 doors, black, 29 7/8x15 3/4x26 "

The strongest storage we’ve made so far

Does your garage sometimes feel like a lost civilization? Pyramids of paint cans grouped around the car, sports equipment you can’t remember even using and forgotten hobbies in boxes stacked high. IKEA product developer Lina Ringefelt wanted to help out. The outcome: the heavy-duty BROR storage system.

Lina and her team researched peoples’ garage needs and found that there’s an interest in everything from full-on hobby rooms, to a place to pot plants and work on cars, as well as storage for everything from heavy power tools to seasonal equipment. Many people also want lockable, closed and open storage that could hold very heavy loads.

Creating very strong storage

“I was inspired by classic industrial furniture typically used in workshops during the 50’s, as well as Meccano, to create the design,“ Lina says. “The idea was to create these beautiful storage units that have double the weight carrying capacity of any other shelves we were making at the time.” Engineer Philip Nedergaard made sure that the design held true to the heavy-duty ambition. “We built some of what we call ‘worst-case scenarios’ by loading the shelves high with concrete bags to really test that the shelves could safely hold almost anything you would want to keep in a garage,“ he says.

Combining good looks and practicality

The result is an adjustable series of shelving units with closed and open storage, including a trolley that serves as a movable shelf and workstation. But perhaps the series biggest calling card is its combination of looks and function. BROR could definitely be used in the home too.

Material

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.

Quality

A real tough one

BROR storage system can withstand a lot. The widest and deepest shelves actually hold 285 lbs. and the smallest shelves can hold 154 lbs. This means that you can store both tires and heavy flower pots without problems. We know this since we tested the storage system by filling the shelves with concrete bags – all to ensure that they can safely hold almost anything you can imagine storing, regardless if the surroundings are tropically moist or dry and freezing cold.
