Do not buy!!!AlanThis bottom join will not connect properly despite several hours working on it. It’s falling apart, fragile and cheap MDF board. I’m genuinely surprised how poorly constructed it is. HOW DID THIS EVER GET APPROVED. Now I have a busted bed that can’t be constructed or returned. Paying to have it returned and delivered again could more than the bed in NYC. Unless I’m buying silverware I’ll NEVER get another piece of IKEA hardware.

Great bedframe, LONG assemblyTaraThe bedframe is gorgeous and the drawer space is massive, and the cubbies in the headboard very convenient. The same cannot be said for the assembly. The instructions are detailed enough, but heed those instructions when they say it is NOT a one-person job. My boyfriend and I did it together, and it took us NINE HOURS. Maybe if your bedroom is enormous and you have a team of four minimum, you might get it done in a timely manner. Nonetheless, the bedframe is exactly what I wanted once it was all assembled so I do not regret the time it took.
WARNING. The mounting screws used to fasten it to the wall are NOT provided. Make sure you have your own before you get to that step.
Disappointed DraganaIt's very difficult to assemble. The drawers don't fit well, they have gap between the frame and drawers. The boards are crooked. The headboard is pointless, it's not connected to the bed frame at all. There's a gap between the bed frame and the headboard.
Poor durability & noisySterlingBought this type of bed frame for my wife. After we moved once and reassembled it, it was noisy/squeaky when moving around on it. Not sturdy enough. I do like the look of it though. Drawer alignment became an issue too. One or two of the drawers didn't open and close well after moving it once.
Horrible bed do not buy MammadoThe bed isn’t worth the price I had to sleep on one side because the slats weren’t sturdy. Still have to call ikea for months to deal with a a refund.

Beautiful bedLoraWe are thrilled with this beautiful bed. It has plenty of space for storage and looks classy in our room. The only reason for four stars is the directions are difficult to follow. The center cams in the bottom would not link up until all four sides were constructed securely and then they twisted into place. We went with custom cut finished plywood instead of the slats to save 4 hours round trip because box springs make the bed way too high.

Horrible - do not buy!BobWhere to start? First, IKEA somehow thinks it's a good idea to ship the REQUIRED SKORVA center support beam SEPARATELY from the bed, even though it would easily fit into one of the THREE boxes or the 4th box for the headboard. This resulted in the delivery company losing the beam, resulting in at least a week delay while I was without a bed. Second, the headboard requires you to screw it into the wall, but the placement of brackets for the screws are 36" apart, making it impossible to screw both into studs (houses are framed with 16" studs). Third, the top board for the headboard has two semi-circle cutouts presumably for plugs to pass through, but the holes are too small for ANY plug, making it all but impossible to use them. Fourth, this thing is heavy AF when completely assembled, screwed half-assedly into the wall, and will either stay with the house when we sell it or be burned because it is impossible to move once assembled (no moving company will move such a heavy piece).
Good BedKevinThis is a great bed with lots of storage and still plenty of room to sleep in. It is the perfect size.
Lots of storage, an event to assembleDawnroseIt took a total of 10 hours to assemble, but once it was done and in place, it turned out to be exactly what we needed. The headboard has cubbies on the side, making it convenient to store things you don’t want to see but need often. The top is absolutely perfect for a lamp, drinks or snacks, and a spot for the cat to look out the window. The bed itself is comfortable with a good mattress, and the drawers are enormous. The extra space in between the drawers under the bed is a good place to put things you just want to store and rarely use. The “tunnel” under the headboard is our cats favorite please to chill. If it wasn’t so tedious to assemble, it would’ve gotten five stars. This is the third bed base with drawers we’ve had. It’s a must have if you don’t have a lot of closet space
Instructions Please!LauraThe bed literally comes with four boxes. I’ve gone through all four and not one set of fucking instructions. That’s literally the easiest part of assembling this box of items. SMH. Why wouldn’t instructions at least be with the initial box labeled “1”? This is ridiculous. I need the instructions, or I want a refund.
Do NOT buy this MorganI have had this bed for 6 months now. It is beautiful don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with the headboard or even the drawers. As far as the overall structure of the bed, it is awful. The two pieces on the side consistency bend out unless your mattress is pressed firm against them (even then still an issue.) the wooden ladder part underneath constantly looses hinge with the black piece and falls to the ground which means your mattress does too. Not to mention the metal bracket arms are so flimsy that even with pulling out a drawer too quickly, they fall. Do not waste your money on this bed it has been non stop problems and such a daily headache. It’s so fun moving throughout the night and being awoken because your mattress falls down due to those little pieces not holding in the wooden ladder part. Seriously cannot wait to replace it because wow what a complete waste of money!
Bed headboard broke less than a yearTaraThe bed without the drawers was purchased in July 2024. It May 2025, the lower part of the headboard broke, which resulted in the whole bed breaking.
Nice but could use one more thingJaniceThis is a nice storage bed. I think it would be better if it had wholes where the headboard shelves are for a cord for power strip or even built in outlets. The shelves are a great place to put your phone, but then you have to run the cord out of the shelf down onto the floor and to an outlet. It would make much more sense if you could accommodate plugging your phone in on the shelf and having the cord run behind the headboard. This would make it much easier. The storage is great, especially if you have an apartment.

BRIMNES FULL SIZE FRAMECindyI absolutely love this bed frame! Very durable and love love love the large drawers underneath helps utilize the small space. This is my 2nd Brimnes we have purchased our first frame was purchased when my daughter was 10, she's now 19. It has held up pretty well even with moving 3 times during that time. This is way we choose to buy a second one for our growing family. I am looking into buying a 3rd bedframe but they don't offer the Dark brown veneer color as the Malm series. I really wish they do in the near future!.. All in all great frame, durable, and worth every penny. I love all Ikea products I have purchased.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
