Shade doesn't fit baseDebbieThe shade sits lopsided on the lamp. I have to keep sitting it straight but is very wobbly. It's a beautiful lamp, but I'm disappointed at the shade fit.3
Caution sticker ruins great lampJeremyI love the design of the lamp and the warmth it brings to the room. Unfortunately, the caution sticker that warns about fire danger for high-wattage bulbs leaves a residue stain on half of the lamp base. I exchanged the first Böja I bought for another one, but it had the same sticky residue after removing the sticker. The returns/exchange employee told me to try dish soap to get it off, but it didn't work. I still love the look of the lamp, so I'll keep it, but I just wish the residue didn't ruin the base.2

Warning: much more orange than in pictureAnonymous reviewerI've had one of these for years and loved it, so decided to buy a new one to have one on either side of my mantel. The bamboo on the new one is a much darker orange (the previous one was more beige) and with the lightbulb on it feels like I'm a rotisserie chicken. I wanted the warm glow, not a broiler!3

The double-walled woven bamboo means this light is warm without any glare, and the pattern of light it emits through the weaving is very pleasant. I like that the lamp looks good at all times, not just when the bulb is lit. Also, the size is very nice, it's tall without being overwhelming in my small apartment.5

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA, we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.

"I've wanted to make a lamp with a handmade bamboo shade for a long time. Both because the material is beautiful and because it's durable - not least of all from an environmental standpoint. When I started working with BÖJA it was natural for me to travel to Vietnam and meet the skillful craftspeople there. Because the material is so light, I wanted to play with volume and make a shade with plumb shapes. The lamp is a good combination of traditional handicraft and modern design."
