Beware. Product FailsTeresaProduct is cheaply fabricated. It does not support much wait. It will bend and fail on you, inevitably. Save your money and either buy higher quality or buy some lumber and brackets to make your own system. Boaxel is a waste of time, energy, and money.
Tough Install - > Good ProductJuliaI bought the Boaxel after reading the "awful to install" reviews. I am plenty handy and figured I'd be able to work with or around any of the limitations. I was able to, but not without a trip to the hardware store to get screws that fit and furring strips.
The furring strips were particularly handy. I installed 1"x2" boards on the wall before installing the wall uprights and the suspension rail. This enabled me to use whatever drywall anchors I preferred. It also solved a height issue I had - I was installing this unit in the most compressed part of my house, and could not fit the unit if mounting above my baseboard.
Once I installed those in position, I then installed the mounting bar and the wall uprights with #6 x 1" screws directly to the furring strips. Finding screws that fit the wall upright was not easy, but it is possible. Had I been screwing the uprights into drywall anchors, I think this would have been much more frustrating and close to impossible. Not novice friendly.
Buy ScrewsDanielleWe love this organizer. It’s good quality for the price. But it doesn’t include the screws required to attach it to the wall.
Impossible to AssembleGenaI am reiterating what others have said. The assembly is impossible, requires patience and exactitude. I usually have no trouble with IKEA stuff. This is a piece of junk. Do not purchase. IKEA - please reconfigure this product to make it possible to assemble by a normal person
Disappointed - Difficult AssemblyBrianaAfter numerous attempts of measuring, using a level, making adjustments, and putting numerous holes in my wall, I am extremely disappointed in the difficulty in assembling this product. I am only casually handy, but the precision you need is not for the casual consumer. I'm fed up and am just returning the whole thing. To difficult to assemble.
Nightmare assemblyAnonymous reviewerThis product does not arrive with any hardware to mount the closet. The instructions list a screw size that does not exist in the US. It's been an absolute nightmare trying to find screws that will fit the vertical brackets. I took the bracket into a hardware store and we tried all the available drywall screws and none would fit. Wood screws are narrow enough but I'm now unsure how to find drywall anchors for them. Wouldn't recommend.
Completely fell apartPaijeAfter professional installation, including a modification to install directly into studs, which was necessary because the pre-drilled holes do not match stud measurements, the entire system fell out of the wall today as I hung up a pair of pants. Unbelievable. Perhaps this system is “affordable,” but if it doesn’t stay in the wall— it’s a complete waste of hundreds of $$z
Ridiculously and Unnecessarily ComplicatedToddI am in the middle of installing this and had to come back to the product page here to see if I could find instructions or images to help. I’ve assembled a dozen other IKEA products in the past, but this is by far the most difficult.
I saw the writing on the wall when I picked it up and they literally rolled out all ~25 pieces separately. Nothing was boxed together. Which was disappointing to see, but no big deal (I thought). It was a pain to move all separate parts into the car and then into the house when we got home. But not a huge deal.
The problem was, when I started to assemble it, each piece was basically treated like its own assembly. The instruction papers had all fallen and separated from their parts, and I started worrying that human error could have easily resulted in parts missing. So now I’m sitting here with piecemeal, difficult instructions and a worry that I’m easily going to mess this up. Wish me luck.
Do not purchase Anonymous reviewerAbsolutely horrific set up. No hardware included. No list of hardware needed to sizes. No clear instructions. Zero help from customer service. This has been so frustrating and unnecessarily complicated; sadly this will be my last ikea purchase after many years of purchases.
Poor ErgonomicsAnonymous reviewerThis is a poorly designed product. As other reviews say, it works well when properly installed but getting there is difficult due to the poor instructions and poor design.
Strong system when installed correctlyCliffordI installed the system a few weeks back and after figuring out how best to install it has been great.
The install is fairly easy. The only difficult part is getting correct measurements for mounting on studs in drywall. I did end up using plywood backing board to make this easier and be as sturdy as I would like.
After that I feel I can load with as much as I need and be confident it will hold everything great.
Notes about use. Yes the baskets only come out half way but they are very light and pretty easy to remove for initial filling. The shelves fell very good and strong and the attachment for the clothes rail is just plain neat.

Beware! Be CarefulJoshuaI used wall anchors but the brackets never felt secure to the wall and slightly shifted when the weight of the clothes was added. It was within the limits. It seemed fine though, but the entire system fell apart two months after installation. Beware! Either get a professional installer or be very careful when doing it yourself. I will not buy or recommend this product again.

Boaxel closetsWilmaI love this product. It was easy to installed. It is sturdy, functional and a cheap alternative to built in closets. If IKEA can do so thing different with this product and other closet products is give the option of more depth (deeper options of boards). The boards are only available in the 15 inches deep.
Easy install, clean aestheticAmyI installed two closets myself in one day and it was super easy. The closets look neat and clean and I love that it can be adjusted over time to fit the different needs of my family. The only con may be the durability in the long run.
