Not enough hardware, not sturdy, arrived damagedAnonymousIt's a cute system but we have to provide our own hardware for the most part. The shelves in the rail system supposedly "snap" into place. This seems okay until you bump into a shelf or shelf bracket in any way, in which case the whole shelf comes out of the bracket and falls. Silly to not include a better system with screws or bolts. The wire baskets arrived in a separate box and were both damaged. The retainer clips that hold the baskets on to the rail were all broken off and in the bottom of the box. Ikea is sending replacement clips but these are so flimsy I don't know how I trust them to hold up when they are in place. I mean these are so flimsy it looks like it would be some kind of temporary packing material, not something made to stay in place permanently. I looked at this system in the store and nothing seemed that flimsy but I guess I should've checked their installation method and checked the shelves with more hands on feel.
Easy to Install, but I Understand the FrustrationSamMaybe because my partner and I are very handy people, but this was really easy to install. I will say, I do understand the frustration because of the many pieces and the fact that it doesn't come with screws or anchors, so it may not be as straight forward as other IKEA products we're used to. We had to do some research on the right kinds of anchors and screws and it took us an hour or so to put together, but once we did, we really love it. It fits perfectly in our apartment, where storage space is lacking. And it's a very sturdy piece of furniture, assuming you're not overloading it with heavy items. So far, we really love it.
No screws and instructions not easy to readTenzinI'm pretty surprised that this didnt come with screws. As some one who doesn't do this often, it was stressful to make sure that I went to grab the proper screws. I dont think there's any excuse, other then trying to safe money, for them not to include the screws. Literally ever other furniture products I set up have come with screws.
The instruction manual was also all over the place not connected. It was like trying to fix a puzzle just to make sure I got the right pages, even then the instructions illustrations were not so great. This is probably the worst set up I've ever done. Also they should probably make a note, for closets clothes can get pretty heavy so if you cant find a stud then you better get an anchor that can handle alot of heavy weight. Not all anchors are the same.
Other then the excruciating installation, the product itself looks nice.
Not SturdyCarolThis closet storage looks nice but the drawers and shelves are constantly coming undone if they get hit the wrong way. Tippy shelves, collapsing wire drawers. The locking system on the brackets needs to change
BEWARE! Tools/nails not includedRachelFor people not familiar with the BOAXEL system like me, please know that there are no screws or nail anchors included. I had assumed they were because other IKEA products include them, but apparently, in order to allow for more customization, IKEA did not include them for this. I wish this was more clearly stated on the website and on the instructions.
