Nice, but Assembly is a NightmareKristyI did a fair bit of research on track shelving systems, and thought the Boaxel was the best-looking track shelving system for the price. However- I have a few major complaints. This system was pretty annoying to install. It's simple in theory, but I ended up needing an absurd number of drywall screws, which kinda stinks because it leaves bigger holes in your walls. I'm not even finished installing it, but I'm considering returning the shelves to buy something easier to install that will leave fewer & smaller holes.
Another complaint- I wish the Boaxel system had a shallower-depth shelf. I'm using mine for books mostly, and 15" is too deep. I wish you offered a 9" bracket and shelf. Can you make that, please?3
Wall UprightAndyThe wall upright is the unsung hero of the system. It’s sturdy, unobtrusive, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do without calling attention to itself.
Installation is straightforward, and once mounted, it provides a solid backbone for shelves, baskets, and brackets. The slim profile keeps open closet spaces feeling light and intentional rather than heavy or overbuilt, which is especially appreciated in a walk-through layout.
Compared to similar systems elsewhere—where even basic uprights can be wildly overpriced—this is another case where IKEA delivers practical design at a reasonable cost. It’s a sturdy, well-designed component that is thoughtfully priced.5
Beware - does not include screws!AdamWould be nice if they noted somewhere obvious that screws are not included 3

#4-6 drywall anchors and screws work greatCarlaBoaxel is a great system for my reach-in closet using the house’s standard mirrored sliding doors. I got the contents of two 90 x 24 inch closets into one by using the system. The only challenge was finding the right screw and wall anchor size for the drywall because the drywall and plaster was too thick to use screws to reach the studs and the Boaxel system needed a small screw head. All screws needed anchors so the rails wouldn’t rip from the drywall. I found #4-6 1-inch wall anchors from Home Depot that worked great!5

Very good system. CricketFor the cost, you aren’t going to find anything better than the Boaxel system. Is it perfect? No. Did it make me scream a little setting it up? Yep. But once it is up, it is wonderful and sturdy. Yes, you need to provide your own hardware, but it is not rocket science. I put the cross piece up with two drywall screws right into the studs. Then everything else just hangs off it. It is wobbly as you try to put the first shelves/drawers on, and gets sturdier as it is supported by itself. I think those who are complaining need to manage their expectations. This is exactly the sort of product I expect from IKEA and I like it enough that I am taking it with me when I move. 5
Missing hardware, customer service not helpfulNathanRequired multiple trips to hardware store, I eventually gave up and threw out the product. It doesn’t include mounting hardware, and the instructions do not specify the correct size of hardware that is required. Don’t waste your time. 1
Perfect fitSheilaI had a shower stall removed with the walls left in tact. I wanted to fill the area with storage shelves, so I chose the Boxale unit. I used the taller rails and widest shelves, and they fit perfectly in the space. If needed I can add more shelves for more storage.5
simple, durable, affordableLyubovlove it5
Doesn’t come with hardware NathanCharged a fortune to ship this, when it arrived I realized it didn’t even come with mounting hardware1
GreatEvelynGreat product. Easy to use and install. Good price5
Boaxel system is the easiest to installRocioLoved that you can personalize the boaxel system and that it's so easy to install.5
it's fine, not greatAnnI used EZ anchors drywall screws to hang the uprights. I believe these are a number 8 pan head, which did scrape the edge of the upright's groove as I was drilling in. Others have said a number 8 screw should work fine, so quality control is a bit lacking. But it's secure to the wall.
The shelves and pieces that connect to the upright don't snap in as easily as I would expect but they seem fairly sturdy once on the uprights. 3
Not as advertised DaraOrdered.a boaxel system. Regret it. It's very difficult to hang. Then the parts don't fit together. I've spent a week working on it and it still the shelfs won't go on correctly Waste of time and money but I live too far away to return plus now the closet walls are destroyed from all the screw holders in the drywall. 1
Too hard to figure out what kind of screws DaraI received delivery of my order about a month ago. I can't install it because there is absolutely no information on what kind of screws. I even tried to ask at my local Lowes and that wasn't any help because they hire random people, not people who know anything about hardware. Ikea should provide guidance for different wall types, I know generally what is needed for drywall-screws that go in a plastic anchor. But I don't know what KIND of screws: wood screws? Drywall screws? What US size is closest to 7mm? I'm pretty angry that I can't install this because the manufacturer refuses to provide any assistance with determining the type of screw. My original plan was to get this for several closest. I'm looking for an alternative now. 3
