Boaxel is garbage. Save your money.TeresaThe cheap aluminum materials used to produce this line of storage products fails consistently. It literally bends over time, ultimately leading to complete failure. So it will collapse, you'll end up with your contents and belongings crashing to the floor, and facing either putting it all back together or choosing an alternative. I decided to try this system as a far cheaper alternative to Container Store Elfa. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for. Buyer beware.
Love the product but not the installationLonaI've bought many items from Ikea over the years. The Boaxel shelving unit was quite possibly one of the most difficult/worst Ikea items in terms of installation. With minimal information, there is no way a typical girl can install this on her own. There should be more information on how the item needs studs in the walls or needs the nails with drywall anchors. I feel like with the lack of instruction in the packaging, it was extremely difficult to install. However, with the help of a guy with a power drill, we were able to get it done. Love the end result but after 2.5 hours and drilling a new hole into the metal, I would just get a bookshelf instead.

Maybe could use for kids closet but a bit too utilitarian for adult closet. Not fancy but very useful and sturdy. Can be a bit tricky to put together... as all ikea is!
