Much better after recent firmware update!John A HillThe buttons work so much better. After the recent firmware update with home assistant. You need to make sure you program the button directly not try and make your own automation. They work sooo much better. May have to wait a few minutes after assigning it's trigger function to properly but they work so much better now!
Non functional. Anonymous reviewerI had to reset all of my Matter connected smart devices a few days after a storm knocked out power. Today for no reason at all, every single wheel remote (I have 6) all stopped working. No matter what I did they wouldn't respond. The worst part is getting everything reconnected to the system. It's a pain yo have to keep scanning QR codes rather than just turning the light bulbs on and off 6 times, and tapping a button 4 times with the TRADFRI devices. more than half the time the Matter enabled devices won't connect. It's supposed to take you back to the IKEA smart home app but it just sits on the screen saying "taking you back to IKEA Home" , and times out. What was wrong with the good old RODRET, and TRADFRI remotes? These are a HUGE step backwards.
TrashAnonymous reviewerThese are complete trash. Every other week they go coma. They do t respond to anything. Even when I press the bottom part to switch between decides tey don't respond. Therefore I have to format them, reconnect them, and if I get that far, I have to reconnect all my devices. All the smart home devices have been absolutely trash since they switched to Matter. I neve have issues with the older sensors, bulbs, or remotes. Now it's become a part time job getting everything working again. Do not buy these until they are updated to do what they're supposed to do.
They just don’t work. EthanThey won’t pair. One lights up but won’t pair. One doesn’t even light up. They’re getting returned.
Completely unreliable SamuelI like what these remotes are trying to do. The idea provides a lot of potential functionality in a small format.I think they mostly have a nice feel and would be a great price if they actually worked. Unfortunately they just aren’t reliable. Half the time they just won’t respond to button presses (as-in, the indicator LED won’t even turn in). Other times they just won’t trigger. When they do work it’s great, but they’re so unreliable I just don’t even try to use them.
Scroll functionality unusable with Home AssistantJosephI can't speak for the IKEA app, but with Home Assistant the scroll wheel is configured as a buttons, and the delay is horrible. Furthermore my finger slips while trying to spin it, it need some texture or a dimple.
