love itNancyHusband had it assembled and ready to use in less than one hour. Just pay attention to the spacing from the top in case you plan on sitting anything on the top.5
All back panels came brokenAshleyAll back panels came broken. Many holes were already chipped. Looks nothing like photo once assembled. Lots of wasted space for stuff to fall behind or between .2
Backboard DamagedLaticiaThe shelves are fine but EVERY backboard was damaged in the same spot.4
Measurements are wrong- and flimsy piecesChristopherThe bookcases are fine by themself, but the moment you attach them the connectors don't math the predrilled wholes and the screws don;'t fit into the bookcase. Since the screws don't fit, putting this together was an arduous task. The gaps between the bookcases are massive and very noticeable.
The connectors damage the bookcase, and bend the moment you bookcase is slightly nudged. I have low ceilings and cannot screw the top connector in in the place I want the bookcase. Moving the bookcase less than a foot caused the top connectors to bend way out of place and the bottom connectors to up the bottom of the bookcase.
It does not hold the bookcases together and is more of a hassle make it somewhat work than it could be to get small clamps to hold them in place.
I now have bent brackets, and brand new bookcases that scratched up beyond belief.1
Measurements are incorrectAlexThe measurement showing that the back corners are 37 3/8 inches apart is incorrect. That measurement is actually for the front corners. Because of this I bought a product that does not fit in the space I bought it for.1
The gaps are unsolvable...AshleyGood for practicality and for the money but as far as aesthetic, the gap between the cabinets is impossible to rectify. It would be wonderful if there was some kind of piece to insert with tabs or brackets on that don't show on the face, but could fit in gaps or even on the corners of shelves next to each other to cover and connect the corners that have the gaps. If my kids ever shove a puzzle piece, lego, piece of food they snuck away with, etc. In those gaps, I will never get it back considering how it's anchored to each other and the wall. Just wish there was a solution for the gap problem.2
Good but don’t get 3 doorsWendyIt does work as a corner unit but I had to place a delivery/shipped order as my closest IKEA is three hours away. I ordered this and 3 Oxberg doors ~ this combo won’t work. Because of the angle, the most you can do is two doors on the outer cabinets - it’s too tight to add the center door. Would have been nice if IKEA had flagged the order and warned me. Not sure what I’ll do with the extra door ~\o/~. Agree with other comments, without any doors on there is a noticeable gap, the two outer doors does solve that issue though.4
This isn’t a corner shelf DraganaThis is a regular shelf that you can put to look like corner. There is a lot of gap between them. A lot of unused space. 2
No color optionsNicoleReally upsetting that this size corner unit doesn’t come in the black color that all the other Billy shelves come in.2
