Product details

The drawers close silently and softly, thanks to the integrated soft-closing function.

It’s easy to keep the cords from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cord outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The two drawers make it easy to keep remote controls, game controls and other TV accessories organized.

Adjustable feet make the TV bench stand evenly on an uneven floor.

Optimize and organize your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.

IKEA of Sweden

  • If you choose the soft closing function for your BESTÅ, we recommend complementing the fronts with knobs/handles to make the drawers/cabinets more convenient to open.

We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 72 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 110 lbs.

The max. load for a wall-hung TV bench depends on the wall material.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

If you are uncertain about what type of mounting devices to use, please contact your local hardware store.

Difficult to assemble, inaccurate picturesJamesThe assembly is essentially a puzzle with four different sets of instructions to piece together. What should have been a 2 hour job was extended by 1.5 hours due to inconvenient part placement that requires working in dark cubbies, awkward angling of a non-dominant hand, and the inability to adjust the height adjustment knobs while the stand is resting on the ground once the drawer sliders have been screwed in. I would not purchase this again. Please be aware that you should zoom in to the 3D view. Looking at only the pictures of the stand in the living room, it is impossible to see the gap between shelf and the top of the pull-out drawer, which is almost an inch wide.1
OKJadeIt is shorter in person. the drawers don't line up. its decent. i also bought the organizers that are in the drawers in the photos and they dont fit like they do in the photo and thats what i liked about it feel like i was bamboolzed lol3
I know this Ikea quality.. But wow.TimI'm completely disappointed with the finished product after building. I know this is Ikea furniture I'm building, but I never expected the build quality to be so bad. When I finished the assembly, it was clear that the left drawer had a large gap between it and the middle, while the right drawer was flush against the middle. What a mess. This piece of furniture isn't exactly cheap by Ikea standards, so I expected a lot more from the build quality. In addition, it seems like Ikea has cheaped out on materials since I last built one of their pieces 5+ years ago. The metal assembly posts seemed like they were built out of the cheapest, softest aluminum. They wanted to strip with every screwdriver or drill that I used. It was really precarious getting things screwed in, and I doubt I'd have any luck with re-assembling to try to correct my crooked drawer gap problem.1
Looks good and east toCharlesLooks good and east to assemble.5
Does the job at a reasonable priceJohnNot too difficult to assemble, and looks good in the finish that we selected. Our 75-inch TV fits on it nicely, and the unit supports it without any sagging.5
Love it, but you do not need the suspension mountRobertBeautiful unit, especially wall mounted. Would buy again. Purchased the Besta wall suspension rail and did not need it. However the holes on the back do not match up with all wall framing studs. Would rate higher, but $150 to ship it.4
I wanted to like it but….NancyI wanted to like this Besta but I can’t say I do. The instructions provided were not intuitive and I was missing the hinges to install the middle door. But everything has become so messed up at this point I’m not bothering to go back to store to pick up the missing parts. I ordered the besta with the soft closing drawers but they just don’t work with the shelves I installed in the basic Besta unit. I have no idea why. Now I have a middle door and two drawers and two runners I can’t use. Also, the tiny slab that covers the back would not fit, so now I have a gaping hole in the back too. I bet it would have been cheaper to not order the drawers but I didn’t know they wouldn’t be functional. Overall, I can still use my Besta, which is good, but I definitely wasted money and time on something that should have worked but didn’t. I would only recommend this product if you’re familiar with building it or you can hire professional help.3
Very Happy with PurchaseSarahI used Task Rabbit and that was a plus (I've previously put together IKEA products myself). But this is just what I hoped for, for my new TV purchase.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
