No way to join the dark colored version of thisMatthewIkea says "As this is a combination made of several separate units, we recommend using a BESTA top panel (sold separately) to cover the joint between the frames and create a uniform look." but Ikea, you do NOT sell that in the color that matches this unit, which is black. You ONLY sell a oak veneer version (Which is basically beige). So you should probably not suggest options that aren't real to your customers. It just further aggravates us. 1
Two seperate pieces, UNABLE to join themMatthewI purchased this black besta storage cabinet. First, its two seperate pieces. However its sold as a set and it does NOT come with the piece necessary to join them. If you purchase black you are out of luck because Ikea doesn't sell t he piece to join them in that color. Also it was received damaged. Found this out after it was almost completely assembled. What a waste of time. 1
Doors and drawers do not alignElaineThis is not a good quality product and it looks terrible when assembled. Even when assembled correctly, the doors and drawers do not align. The only adjustments possible are moving the drawers in and out and up down—and even those are rudimentary and ineffective. There is no L/R adjustment on the drawers.1

It turns out that it is actually 2 cabinets and each cabinet has its own top so it is not a seamless surface. additionally despite buying the combination SKU, it didn't come with instructions on how to join the two cabinets nor the hardware to connect them.1

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
