Bestå is a great seriesEricEasy to install, and easy to use, Bestå provides storage for many purposes and designs, with a high degree of flexibility and even post-partum (after you built it one way) options to change and adopt to a new approach. I bought this specific door, which is smaller than the actual cabinet, because the original full size door couldn't work with the new AV receiver I put in the full depth Bestå cabinet. By changing to the shorter door, and putting the shelf so that the door top is even with the shelf, the AV receiver can stick out (it is very deep with cables attached), and the lower section is still protected by a new door. This avoids needing to open a hole in the back of the cabinet, which creates a permanent opening and limits re-use of the cabinet. If there is a gripe about Bestå as a series, then it's Ikea's decisions on what elements form the series to carry in the USA, and removing many of the 7.5 inch deep options, which are better book/media shelves than other solutions. Or the limitations of available colors or removal of older color options from the series.5
The door is too heavy!AnonymousI bought this to hang in my kitchen. The door is too heavy for the hinges though. I tried everything. All of the suggestions on line to fix it. Nothing helped. The door weird the glad is just too heavy and hands down on the non-hinge side. Returned.2
