This cover is made of dope-dyed GUNNARED fabric in polyester. It is a durable fabric with a wool-like feel, a warm look and a two-toned mélange effect.

The cover is easy to keep clean as it is removable and can be washed.

Safety and compliance

This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 50,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist color fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.

Doesn’t fit - chair coverBranislavI havent read reviews about this product before I had purchased this product and made mistake to buy it. I’m surprised that there is no note that IKEA changed dimensions of the chair but haven’t change the name of product (Bergmund). This is not good policy toward customers. You do not respect our and your time.1

I have never had an issue with the chair covers fitting (I purchased the frame from ikea as well). i have always purchased the off white covers in the past (18 to be exact and all fit perfectly). this time, I decided to buy the light grey. No worries about stainsKimI love this chair so much! It has Velcro underneath the bottom of the seat, so the covers are super easy to put on and they are stretched tight and look perfect out of the package. We almost bought dining chairs from a different store, but they were upholstered with light fabric and I knew they would get stained. When I saw these chairs, I knew they were perfect because the covers could be removed for washing. Plus, there are several covers to choose from, so I can easily change the look of the chairs (and my dining room). 5

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
