Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

Incredible. Incredibly cheap. A bit of construction oversight?NamjunI picked this up on a whim because it looked cheap and cheerful, with emphasis on cheap. $4.99! For vacuum carafe with glass lining! Value wise this is phenomenal.
I also like the look of it. It kinda looks generic and free of frills, but it’s fine.
Downside, though, is the opening. It’s simply too small, and it hinders both pouring water in and out of the carafe. Tilt too low and it may pour the water like a stream and not through the spout. And pouring in… if you want to add water through the fridge water dispenser, it might cause more trouble than you envisioned. You might also encounter some issues with ice.
That said, it loads about a quart of water and keeps it cool for long enough. And at the nice price, I’ll manage.

Love this carafe!MelThis is our third carafe. We finally had to replace our last one after about 7 years of daily use, the glass lining shattered. Luckily it was all contained within the carafe and I'm not upset that it happened after so many years of faithful service. We make our coffee in a french press every morning and then put it in this carafe to keep it hot. It does an amazing job of keeping the temperature, I love the lining is glass (non-toxic), and it's easy to clean.

Looks can be deceiving JariaI like its utility in that it can be used to keep liquids hot or cold longer, however I thought the volume capacity would be closer to the outward dimensions of the container. This is definitely better used with like sitting a pint or quart of something like creamer and not liquids like juice, lemonade, or anything that could ferment or has carbonation. The inner liner is glass so if you drop it, the liner could break, you can't put soda or champagne or anything like that in it, and the lip of the pitcher is open to air so you must clean this before pouring liquids just to be sure. For the price, it's great if you wanna take two cups worth of liquid out in the porch, but otherwise this is something that'd keep liquid that stay in the fridge.

Keeps water cold for several daysJanielThis is a beautiful pitcher, and when filled with ice and water, the ice remains for a couple of days. I have not used it for hot beverages, but if it works this well with ice, I would imagine it would keep it hot for at least several hours.
