I liked the look of it felt it was great at the store...SuzanneI was happy with the purchase until I started to assemble. 4 screws that secure bottom half of the step stool were too big to fit through the holes. I tried few times without success. Screws got bad, too soft to handle screwing with a hand held screw driver. I am very annoyed that I will have to take it back to the store, either to ask them to screw in the impossible task or return. 3
Literally the WORST thing I’ve ever bought from IKEAAnonymousThis is a pile of hot garbage. I have never had so much trouble putting something together, from IKEA or anywhere else. The screws that attach the top to the bottom are just slightly too large to fit in the holes so it is virtually impossible to screw them all the way in. They are also made of a metal that is slightly harder than warm cheese, so in the process of trying to tighten them, they become completely stripped on the top. They are also a non standard size, so they are too large for a size 2 Phillips head and too small for a size 3. I would give this negative stars if I could. DO NOT BUY THIS. 1
Convenient and safeJudithThis is a very handy help er in every room of the house. We leave it in the garage to reach all stored items in our cabinets. It is really safe easily balanced. 5
Great Step Stool with So Many UsesCherylLove the sturdy light weight design with the added handle security. My grandchildren need a safe way to get to the bathroom and kitchen sinks. I love that it holds up to 220 lbs. If the designer could add cross support bars under the top step like your shower chair, you could probably increase the weight capacity up to 330 lbs. for heavier people. Adults can use it as a great height sitting stool around the house with the built-in safety handle to get up and down. An added bonus is my small grandchildren can sit on the bottom step and use the top step as a desk. The built-in handle makes it easy to move around the house for multiple uses. This is a wonderful product.5
MIssing hardwareDebraBought two and upon opening the first one realized there was no hardware in the box. Then I saw the the steps were plastic. No thanks. Will be returning both. Too bad, I really liked the look and had a need for this type of step stool. 1
You’ll need a POZIDRIV screwdriver to assemble thisAnonymousIf you’re confused (like I was) at how the provided screws will fit into the too-small holes in the metal frame, I searched online & realized that I was using the wrong type of screwdriver. Don’t use a Phillips head screwdriver for this assembly — you’ll end up stripping the screw. Instead, you’ll need a Pozidriv screwdriver, which is common in Europe but less common in the US. If you compare it to a Phillips head screw, Pozidriv screw heads will have 4 additional, thin markings (shaped like an X). Pozidriv offers greater torque than Phillips, so a Pozidriv screwdriver will easily & magically drive these screws into the small holes for a good fit. The hand rail can be reversed during assembly, so you can choose to have it on your left or right side. Good design, feels safe & sturdy.5
Simple but Functional Step Stool w/RailRitaThis chair is simple in design yet high quality and functional. I have mostly used it to display household items and decorations on it vs. as step stool. It takes up minimal space, which is my design esthetic, and plus the price was reasonable to note. My reduction of 1 star was that some of the screws provided, there are different sizes, did not correspond with the holes the diagram stated. 4

A little support that can make a big difference

A helping hand on your way out of the bathtub, when you want to reach the top of the bathroom cabinet – or simply feel a bit groggy on an early morning. Our BÄSINGEN product series is there for convenient support when you need it the most. Designed for the bathroom, but just as useful throughout the home.

Life at home is in constant change, and the needs can shift quickly. “Maybe you pushed extra hard in the gym and woke up feeling all stiff. Then you might need a little extra support and help with the simplest everyday things. Like taking a shower,” says designer Sarah Fager.

A safe grip

Sarah started off the project by studying how people with physical limitations move, and what their needs are. “It often feels good to be able to hold on to something with your hand. That’s why we developed the wall-mounted towel rail and shower shelf. But the step stools and the shower chair are stable and grip-friendly supports, too.” The shower chair can also add a bit of everyday luxury: imagine sitting comfortably and steadily and feeling the warm water pouring over your body.

Support that blends in with the home

The products were created to take up little space and have a minimalistic expression that is rooted in our Scandinavian design tradition. “They should blend in regardless of your style and shouldn’t be something you need to put away or hide.” Sarah hopes that the series will make a difference in the everyday life of many people. “This was one of my most challenging design projects because it was about meeting needs that were new to me. But this also made it one of my most enlightening projects. I wish BÄSINGEN will be something you can live with for a long time. Maybe you will use the products a bit less during certain periods in life, but they are always close at hand, ready to provide support.”
