Easy to cut to size and hangTricia This was 2 inches too long for my closet, so we used a hack saw to cut it down 2". Took about 1/2 hr using a cheap small hacksaw. Relatively easy to hang. We used Snaptoggles rather than plastic anchors as we wanted to be sure it would hold a lot of weight. Love how the closet came out!!

Cheap and poor instructionsNateAll these parts have individual directions and no directions for a set that you buy. Its up to you to figure out how they connect to the other parts and what order to do it in. Also typical Ikea, no actual words to go with the pics for instructions.

Suspension rail installation instructions could use more clarityMaylingUsing the suspension rail to support the closet system off the wall is a simple method. However, it is not sized well for American building standards if stud spacing of 16” or 24”. It takes a lot of planning to lay out the rails to have enough coverage between studs and across the clothing system. Also, it was not clear from the instructions that the customer needed to supply the screws.
Aurdal is a Great Closet insert!NicoleI purchased the Aurdal closet insert shelving unit because the dimensions and drawer/shelf organization fit our needs exactly! I have not purchased anything like this from IKEA before so I was taking a chance buying something that is not already put together. I was intimidated by all of the separate pieces but once I started putting it together with my son, we got the hang of it and it went very smoothly and ended up fitting perfectly and looking great in his closet! It is solid and sturdy and well worth the price! I am impressed and will be looking to outfit my own closet with another closet insert from IKEA soon!

How are we to install this system when you a. don't provide the necessary screws for the suspension rail (THEE most important component might I add), nor b. provide metrics on what size screw to purchase once buyers have realized that this system is useless without it, nor c. leave a note when folks are ordering that screws are not included like other companies do for batteries?????? I was so ready to install my system and leave a great review because my design looked awesome online but now I have to figure out how to return 83 pieces and find another solution for my closet after I already ripped out the old one. :(
Not code!HristoThe suspension rail is supposed to go (in most cases) into studs. Guess what, the spacing between the holes is not 16", which is what the code is for width between stud centers! So you can't possibly screw this rail into the centers of your studs!

Screws do not come included.JodiI can't say for sure how well it is yet because it didn't come with screws to install it. When I checked out, I specifically asked if all the screws/hardware were included with the system and was told yes. I planned my night around putting the closet up but now I'll have to wait until I can get to the hardware store this weekend. The included directions don't even indicate you need to provide screws, just a drill, tape measure, and level.
It wouldn't have been an issue if I knew beforehand to stop and get them.
When I'm finally able to install it, I can come back to review the actual features.
