Daughter loves itKenleyOur daughter loves being able to sit at the same “level” at our dining room table. The chair is sturdy and the color fits into any decor. We love finding this chair.5
Toddler chairPamelaWorks well for a 3 - 4 year old4
Perfect HeightANNETTESo glad I ended up buying this chair. My son loves being able to get into his own share and sit at the table like a "big boy". My only complaint is the seat if flat so it is not as comfortable. Luckily, I was able to add a think pad to provide a bit of seat comfort.4
Perfect chair for my toddlerNanciMy son is 3 and this chair is easy for him to safely climb up and down on his own. It's the perfect height as he sits at our dining room table. It's sturdy enough for my older children (18 and 19) to sit on without it wobbling or showing any other signs of distress. I love the color. I'm sure it'll last for years.5
Very well made, solid, sturdy-pamVery well made, solid, sturdy- classic look.5

She loves her chairANGELAPerfect size for our table5
Perfect!shagbark86This is my 3rd junior chair. It is perfect, it doesn't take up the room of a regular high chair at the holiday table, the kids are at the perfect height and the kids like being able to sit next to their favorite aunt or uncle or maybe grandma.5
Just right!Grandma JPI bought one of these for my grandchild. They liked it so much that I bought another for her sister. It is just the right height and easy for then to get on and off by themselves. They are very well constructed and look very nice in the home.5
Fits perfect at our dining room tableKatethegreatfergusonI bought this chair instead of a booster seat to put on another chair. I was worried it wouldn't fit at our dining room table. It aligns perfectly. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 is I wish it had arms.4
Very sturdy, child feels like ‘BIG’ kidBobA57Grand daughter loves her ‘Emma chair’. Easy & safe to climb up, wanting to be a part of family meal. It’s the right height making them slide up to table. Great chair for 3+ yr olds5
For Highchair Graduate!OandDsBubbieCompact, sturdy and blends in with many dining sets. Perfect for toddler grandchild who is too “big” for highchair. Seat bottom big enough for travel strap on booster to fit. Small size might not work for bigger child. We added glue during assembly for extra stability.4
Perfect transitional chairJCAAMy son is 3. He is too short to sit in an adult chair but he doesn't want to sit in a high chair. This is a perfect in between and he can climb up onto it himself without tipping it. My 5 year old even sits in it sometimes because it's just the right height.5
Durable and attractive chair!FroemeltWe got this chair as a transition between a high chair and adult chair. The construction is very solid and the design makes it easy to clean. The wide spread of the chair legs also make it less likely to tip over. We enjoy having our child join us at the dinner table now and it looks great with our existing dining set!5
Super chair for toddler and preschoolersRachel412Bought this for my son 3.5 he loved it. Gives him just enough height to sit comfortably at the table. Bought a second one for my daughter 1.5 I know it says 3 and up but she was using his with no problems so we ditched the high chair and it's working out great.5
Cute chairNadb076Bought 2 of these to balance my new table and it fits perfect. My 5 year old loves it as she can reach the table better. This is sturdy enough to hold me. Love it!! Just a bit hard to assemble but I got my husband to tighten the screws and it’s perfect5
ChairTina WIt’s the perfect size for my granddaughter that’s just turning three ...5
Great chair for my 2 year oldMargaretlivI intially went to buy a dining chair that I could use with a booster, but found this instead. I’m impressed with the weight, I was concerned it’d be top heavy and would tip. My little climber gets right up to her seat, and it’s very sturdy. It’s cute and washes up nicely.5
junior chairkedfperfect fit for the growing grandchild at the table5
Piece of JunkSammy AngelThis is a typical IKEA product. The instructions are difficult to understand; assembly is challenging as it is poorly engineered; and, because the materials are cheap, the paint chips during assembly and the wood decomposes.1
Our take on wood
Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
Forests are critical for life on earth
Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.
100% wood from more sustainable sources
At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030
As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.
We accomplish more by working together
For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.
What is solid wood?
Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
