Paint BubblingKristineI have received two of these and both had an issue with the paint having bubbles and chipping off. For something so expensive I would expect a smooth coat with no bubbles or chips

Failed within a yearAlexiaI purchased the HAVSTA sideboard less than a year ago, expecting a durable piece of furniture given the solid wood description and the price point. Unfortunately, the internal sliding door runner recently suffered mechanical hardware failure, broke off, and became jammed inside the track during light use. When the runner seized up, it caught against the door and caused the wood to splinter and crack. The unit is now non-functional and structurally damaged. When I reached out to IKEA customer service to resolve this, I was disappointed to be told that this mechanical defect and the resulting damage are "not covered under warranty." I was told my only option is to drive 4 hours round-trip to a physical store to see if replacement parts for a defective item were available. The product itself looks nice, but the moving hardware components are prone to failure, and IKEA does not stand behind their items when they break. I would not recommend purchasing this if you expect it to last.

Buyer bewareMattDirections are difficult to follow even if you have lots of experience, and it is very easy to make a difficult-to-reverse mistake. Piece also scratches easily and wood is flimsier than usual. Do not recommend.

Defective product - not worth the moneyJodiI bought 3-piece set in beige-gray color - cabinet, glass cabinet and side board. All 3 pieces have blue circles throughout from where wood was primed but not painted. I paid for delivery and task rabbit assembly and no resolution from IKEA. Very disappointed!
too delicateChrissyThis was just way too delicate> i have some white Havsta and the paint has rubbed off in many places. It isn't to noticeable because it is white but the black is just to delicate for use. I returned it.
Unexpectedly exactly what I was looking for!RobinWe were looking for a cabinet for our kitchen to replace a table. I had the cabinets on the cart and then I found this in the As-Is section. It was perfect. Then I saw the 2 drawers inside. I couldn’t get someone to help me fast enough. It holds everything and then some. Perfect liquor cabinet for my space!

Really niceMargaretAfter assembling four units, we can say they are really nice once completed.
Pros - fast delivery, friendly delivery driver, slow closing doors on units and each unit well-packaged. Cons - staining was kind of splochy in some areas, wood cracks/breaks easily so be very careful, plastic hardware to hold heavy wooden furniture is a joke (cannot understand why they didn't include metal screws instead of plastic push tabs) and identifying the pieces according to the directions was tricky at times. We also didn't receive any hardware to attach the units to the wall.
Overall, we accomplished what we wanted it to look like - a built in row of cabinets and bookcases.

Love it! RebeccaI bought this as storage for my home office. I like that it is sturdy solid wood and has drawers, but enough room to store all my other stuff and the sliding doors don't take up a lot of space.
It also means I don't have to look at all the stuff inside, so it reduces visual clutter. My husband and I put this together in less than 2 hours including time cleaning up.
My room looks bigger and brighter than it did with my old desk and there's a lot of space on top to spread out documents or for my cats to lounge.

Lots of storage space, love the drawers!AllisonLove this piece, can't tell it is from Ikea. High quality materials and straight forward to put together. I like that you can see the wood grain through the stain. The gray-beige color is a really beautiful neutral. The drawers are my favorite part!
