After 2 years, my chair melted?EmilyIt's an average chair, averagely comfortable, but I've noticed that the back seems to have melted, despite being kept in a dark room most of its life. It has begun to leave weird stains on clothing, too. Disappointed in the quality.
Great chair, especially at price BruceAfter assembly and trying out the chair I bought for my wife. I have ordered another one for myself. The chair provides excellent back support. Assembly was easy except for the last few screws. Be patient. The wheels move fine when seated; the instructions explain that the wheels lock when the chair is empty. Time will tell regarding durability. But the low price alleviates my anxiety about purchasing a replacement if needed.

Very Upright!!NickThe build and quality are great! But the chair is very upright, to the point of leaning forward! It reclines. But does not lock reclined. I'd look for a different model that's more comfortable.

Stiff & UnfomfortableNicoleThese chairs used to be nice and comfortable. But recently, Ikea lowered the quality. Specifically, there's much less padding in the seat so that it feels like you're sitting on cardboard.
The wheels also used to glide. Now they're very stiff and don't roll easily.
I'd rather pay the extra $10 bucks and get better quality like these use to be.

Nice chair hard to buildYoavAfter 3 hours, 2 pinched fingers, and a lot of swear words I have finally finished building this chair (with help)
Some screws didn't align and it was hard to make the chair cooperate and stay still so I got a friend to help but other than that the chair is lovely and comfortable to sit on. The armrests are a bit wrinkled but they are comfortable. I could sit on this chair for the rest of my life
Very comfortable, but...TimothyI have one of these, and at first I loved it. For the money, it was super comfortable. It provides back support and the amount of padding is just right. But there is a problem. The plastic/rubber covering starts wearing out after a year or two, especially on the armrests, and pretty soon I was covering the chair with electrical tape. This did extend the life of the chair, but of course it messed up the appearance. Also, the covering tends to stick to the skin on hot days, which is annoying. I am going to try something else next time.
My favorite office chairBillieI have a lot of hip, leg, and shoulder pain so I'm extremely sensitive to the chairs I sit in for long periods of time. This is the ONLY office chair I can sit in without back pain added to the mix. It's very firm to start which isn't great in my opinion, but it softens over time. I've had my chair for about 3 months and it's perfect now. I know everyone's bodies are different so this may not be the perfect chair for all or even most, but I love it. Before I had this chair, I only used another IKEA office chair, a very similarly shaped white and black one. In my opinion that one was better, more cushioning, and I just prefer white over cream, but they stopped making it and this is the next best option (plus it is a bit cheaper so I suppose that makes up for it). I definitely recommend it!
Great basic office chairSpencerThis is my 2nd office chair from IKEA; the previous one lasted almost 15 years and was happy to see it continues to be in stock. Just a good, solid task chair, very comfortable. You'll want to keep the wrench since it needs a regular tightening of the screws as the chair adjusts to you and your movements to keep squeaking to a minimum; of course, IKEA has a place to store it on the inside back of the chair. Only issue was wishing the armrest filling was firmer but not a deal breaker.

Good for one yearPerminderThis chair is good for one year. After that, the seat bends on one or the other side and the cushion slumps down. It feels like you are going to slide down at any moment. I do not suggest to buy it.

If replacement parts were available, this would be a 5.Anonymous reviewerI liked the chair. Bought about 6 years ago. However the plastic armrests hold the seat and back together and over time begin to crack and become a safety issue.
There appears to be no way to get replacement armrests which results in the entire chair being trashed. I'd happily pay for replacement parts, but they don't seem to be available.
