Knife MagnetCasandraBeen using mine for over a year now and it held up very well but just a few days ago the top cover part popped off and all of my knives fell. It’s not sturdy enough and for whatever reason doesn’t secure enough onto the mounting back. It’s just a cover that is placed and not sturdy.

Can't find info if flush to wallAnonymous reviewerYou would think an IKEA product would have great visual instructions - not so with this knife rack. Confusing bunch of diagrams with two vertical supports - what the heck are these? And plastic spacers are clearly taller than the knife rack interior cavity - which means the darn rack will sit about 3/16" off the wall, i.e. NOT flush. Nothing in instructions, bunch of strange hooked parts and searching online shows ambiguous answers.
And before IKEA replies with some nonsense about consulting the returns counter...I should drive 200 miles to find out if this thing is even defective or not? Driving means I'm taking this thing back! Most online retailers of IKEA's size have easy returns. This plus the dumb splintery hangers mean last online IKEA purchase.
Pieces were missing from packagingAnonymous reviewerWhen I first bought the knife rack and tried to install it there was no magnetic bar included. There were also no instructions, so I didn't even know that parts were missing.
It remained on a shelf collecting dust for months. I'm sure it's a great product, but I'm not sure I'd be able to return it for missing parts.
No screws was a surpriseCorinneI was in the store and picked this up. The assembly manual doesn't indicate what size screws you have to buy. I'm glad I got it but it's not a straightforward installation.

Excellent knife rackFayeThis is an excellent knife rack. The simplicity of the design makes it a stylish choice for any style. The stainless steel is easy to keep clean. The only issue I have is, until you fill the length about half full of knives etc. there is a tendency for the cover to release from the magnet when you remove a knife, not a deal breaker since most people will be filling the length at least half full.

Smart storage provides flow in the kitchen
You've also probably experienced this: coming home tired after a long day, knowing that both you and the rest of the family need food as soon as possible. But there are tricks that help make cooking easier. With our wall-mounted kitchen storage series KUNGSFORS, utensils, spices and recipes have their given places on the wall instead of being spread out on the kitchen worktop. With a bit of pioneering we managed to make the wall brackets nicely hidden, too.
When starting to work with KUNGSFORS, we turned to chef and cookbook writer Maximilian Lundin for inspiration. "There are a lot of practical things to be learned from a restaurant kitchen,” says Maximilian. “Like having utensils and ingredients easily accessible so that you have a good flow when cooking, and have plenty of space on the kitchen worktop."

The series is made up of many different products and the project required both time and patience from all involved. The team engineer David Zeberg looks back on the work. "One of the challenges was to make the wall brackets of the rails hidden. But I love projects where we do something pioneering and have to test boundaries before finding the solution." For the chef Maximillian, who is passionate about good food, it was a whole new experience to be involved in influencing people's kitchens ─ the environment where food is cooked. "The positive thing was that everyone in the team was so ambitious about ensuring that KUNGSFORS would help to simplify cooking", says Maximillian.

What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
