IKEA 80th Anniversary Gift Card Giveaway Promotion

Terms and Conditions

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR RECEIVE A GIFT CARD. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF RECEIVING A GIFT CARD. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. THIS PROMOTION IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY AND WILL BE GOVERNED BY U.S. LAW. 

  1. DESCRIPTION: The IKEA 80th Anniversary Gift Card Giveaway Promotion (the “Promotion”) begins on August 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. local time until all gift cards are redeemed, but no later than August 18, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. local time (“Promotion Period”).  The first eighty (80) eligible IKEA Family members to enter a participating U.S. IKEA retail store (excluding any IKEA Planning studios or IKEA Plan and order point) will receive an IKEA gift card (a “Gift Card”).  By participating in the Promotion, each individual agrees to comply with and abide by these terms and conditions and the decisions of IKEA US RETAIL LLC, (“Sponsor”), which shall be final and binding in all respects.
  2. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age (nineteen (19) in AL and NE) or older at the time of the Promotion, who are eligible IKEA Family members in good standing during the Promotion Period.  Employees of IKEA North America Services, Sponsor, and each of their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, advertising and promotion agencies or other companies associated with the Promotion (collectively, “Promotion Entities”) and their immediate family members (defined for these purposes as including spouse, parents, children, and siblings and each of their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  Void where prohibited. 
  3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROMOTION: To receive a Gift Card in the Promotion, be one of the first 80 eligible IKEA Family members to enter a participating U.S. IKEA retail store during the Promotion Period.  LIMIT: ONE (1) GIFT CARD PER ELIGIBLE IKEA FAMILY NUMBER. 
  4. GIFT CARD REDEMPTION: Potential Gift Card recipient must be one of the first 80 eligible IKEA Family members during the Promotion Period, in the presence of a designated IKEA team member, in order to redeem their Gift Card. Any Gift Card will be awarded immediately.  If any potential Gift Card recipient is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with these Terms and Conditions or declines the Gift Card for any reason prior to award, such Gift Card will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate Gift Card recipient.
    All costs and expenses not set forth as part of the Gift Card shall be the sole responsibility of each Gift Card recipient.  Unclaimed Gift Cards will not be awarded.  The recipient may not substitute, assign, or transfer the Gift Card or redeem the Gift Card for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute the Gift Card with one of comparable or greater value.  All applicable federal, state, and local taxes on the Gift Cards are the sole responsibility of the Gift Card recipient.  Gift Cards are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied, by Sponsor.  No returns/exchanges.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, intercepted, or Gift Cards otherwise not received.  
  5. GIFT CARDS/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES (ARV)/ODDS: Eighty (80) Gift Cards will be distributed in this Promotion.  Each recipient will receive a randomly issued Gift Card.  Terms and conditions of gift card apply; see gift card for details.  Total approximate retail value of all Gift Cards per participating store: $2,500.
    See individual participating store for further Gift Card and odds details.  All costs and expenses not set forth as part of the Gift Card shall be the sole responsibility of each Gift Card recipient.  Unclaimed Gift Cards will not be awarded.
  6. GENERAL: Failure to provide any requested information to verify eligibility, and/or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions may result in forfeiture of the Gift Card and an alternate recipient may receive the Gift Card. 

    No cash equivalents, substitutions or transfer of the Gift Card is permitted.  If a Gift Card, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute Gift Card with another item of equal or greater value.  Acceptance of a Gift Card shall be construed as and signify the recipient’s agreement and consent that Sponsor may use the recipient’s name, portrait, picture, biographical information, voice, likeness, statements, photograph and/or Gift Card information, without limitation, for promotional purposes in any and all media now known or developed in the future, throughout the world in perpetuity without further consideration, review, approval or payment, unless prohibited by law.

    By participating, recipient agree to hold harmless the Promotion Entities, and their respective parent companies, affiliates, directors, employees, officers and agents from any and all liability, injury, loss or damage of any kind, including but not limited to personal injury or death, arising from or in connection with participation in the Promotion, or the awarding, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any Gift Card and/or with respect to participation in any Gift Card-related activity.  Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in printing, offering, announcement or administration of the Promotion.  By participating in this Promotion, the individual agrees to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this Promotion should fraud, or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper administration of the Promotion.
  7. LIMITATIONS AND RELEASES: Sponsor is not responsible for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by the individuals, printing errors, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (b) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (c) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the process or the Promotion; (d) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing; or (e) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from individual’s participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any Gift Card.  No more than the stated number of Gift Cards will be awarded.  Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any associated website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.  Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the process.
  8. DISPUTES: By entering the Promotion, individuals agree that any disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Promotion, or any Gift Card awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any class action and all claims, awards and judgments shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Promotion, but in no event attorneys’ fees.  No individual is permitted to obtain any award for, and waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages.  Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the validity, construction, and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions, or the rights and obligations of the individuals and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  In addition, any dispute relating to the Promotion, or these Terms and Conditions shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal court having jurisdiction over the subject matter located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  Individuals hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of said courts and waive any claim of forum non conveniens or lack of personal jurisdiction they may have.
