1. How to Purchase Assembly Service
Purchasing Assembly service via Taskrabbit in the United States through IKEA can be accomplished in the following ways: (1) by speaking with an IKEA co-worker in-store to determine your assembly cost based on the IKEA product(s) where you desire assembly prior to your in-store checkout and payment for those IKEA products and assembly service; (2) by adding/selecting assembly service to your product cart for specific IKEA product(s) where you desire assembly prior to your online checkout and payment at www.ikea.com/us/en for those IKEA products and assembly service; or (3) by speaking with an IKEA co-worker when placing an order by phone at 1-888-888-4532 to determine your relevant assembly cost based on your desired IKEA product(s) for assembly prior to your payment via a pay link emailed to you for those IKEA products and assembly service.
2. Assembly Service Via Taskrabbit (A Third-Party Assembly Vendor)
By purchasing assembly service via Taskrabbit, a third-party assembly vendor in the United States, you direct IKEA to share your personal data with Taskrabbit, for the purpose of providing you with assembly service. In doing so, you authorize Taskrabbit to use your data to either verify your existing Taskrabbit account or create a new Taskrabbit account on your behalf. Any personal data shared with Taskrabbit and associated with your account will be governed by Taskrabbit’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
As Taskrabbit is a third-party assembly vendor, please note that when you interact with Taskrabbit IKEA does not control, monitor, or otherwise assume liability that may stem from your decision to download and or use of the Taskrabbit App or Taskrabbit’s website. To the extent you establish or verify an account with Taskrabbit, please note that IKEA does not have any access regarding your Taskrabbit account data, user communications, user preferences, or interactions that you have with Taskrabbit or any assigned Tasker via the Taskrabbit App or Taskrabbit website. Please see Taskrabbit’s Privacy Policy to learn more about how Taskrabbit processes your data and any rights that you may have under applicable law.
3. Required Customer Actions for Assembly Service
After your IKEA purchase for products and assembly service order occurs, you must take certain steps as outlined below prior to any confirmed assembly service taking place.
- Taskrabbit Welcome Email: You will receive a separate welcome email from Taskrabbit to the email associated with your IKEA order following your purchase. This email will includes required next steps and customer actions so that Taskrabbit can assign a Tasker, an independent contractor, for your individual assembly service.
- New Account Creation or Account Validation: An active Taskrabbit account is a required condition before any assembly service is confirmed. Once you receive Taskrabbit’s welcome email you will need to take one of the following actions: (1) confirm your new Taskrabbit account (if you do not already have an existing account with Taskrabbit in the United States); or (2) otherwise confirm/validate your existing Taskrabbit account is active in the United States.
- Communication with Taskrabbit Tasker (Once Assigned): Once your Taskrabbit account is confirmed this will enable you to chat with your assigned Tasker through TaskRabbit’s website for transactional purposes and related logistics. You will need to communicate with your assigned tasker prior to assembly services to confirm your assembly service date and time window. Any failure to communicate with Tasker regarding your assembly service date and time confirmation and related transaction logistics may result in your assembly service being delayed, rescheduled, or canceled in Taskrabbit’s sole discretion.
4. Miscellaneous
Desired Assembly Date & Time Window: When you place product order with assembly services the preferred date and time you initially indicate is not necessarily your confirmed date and time window for your assembly services. A Tasker must first be assigned to confirm your assembly service date and time window. The time window indicates the anticipated timeframe where your Tasker will arrive to perform your assembly services. However, the actual duration time of assembly for your product(s) may vary, depending on the number of IKEA products ordered, your site conditions, and the Tasker(s) assigned.
Assembly Service Day Responsibilities: Either you or your representative that is eighteen (18) years of age or older must be present for the duration of the assembly services. You should ensure that you have all products needed for your assembly and confirm the IKEA product boxes are in good condition with no visible damage. Please contact IKEA promptly if you have missing or damaged product(s). If delivery is delayed, or products are damaged, then your assembly service will need to be rescheduled. Ensure that your products for your assembly service are in the intended room where they will be assembled, or in a nearby room on the same floor of your residence if that is not possible. Your Tasker is not responsible for moving any furniture to complete their assembly service. There must always be enough space in the room to assemble and secure the products as required.
Certificate of Insurance Needs: If you need a Certificate of Insurance to assembly products at your location, please click here for Taskrabbit Certificate of Insurance.
Customer Cancelation or Rescheduling: To cancel or reschedule your confirmed assembly services appointment, IKEA must be notified as soon as possible. To avoid cancelation fees, IKEA must be notified a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours prior to the appointment.
Customer Unavailability: If a Tasker shows up at your confirmed date and time window, but you or your representative over the age of eighteen (18) are not present or otherwise available then the full assembly service amount will be forfeited.
Customer Cancelation (Within Twenty-Four Hours of Your Confirmed Assembly Date): If you cancel your assembly service within twenty-four (24) hours of your confirmed assembly service date and time window then you will be charged $52.00.
