IKEA recalls certain VARMFRONT Power Banks due to fire hazard

IKEA is announcing a voluntary recall of certain VARMFRONT power banks. Due to a manufacturing issue the power banks can overheat, posing a fire hazard.  

The recall includes date stamps for both versions of the VARMFRONT power banks: 10400 mAh (model number E2038) with date stamp (YYWW) 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319, or 5200 mAh (model number E2037) with date stamp (YYWW) 2318, 2319 or 2322. The date stamp is located on the backside of the product, in the bottom right-hand corner in YYWW format. VARMFRONT power banks with other date stamps are not affected by this recall.

If you purchased one of these recalled power banks, please immediately stop use and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund or replacement power bank. If you are unable to return to a store, please contact IKEA for instructions on how to dispose of the power bank to receive a full refund. The recalled power banks were sold in US stores and online from July 2023 through March 2024 for about $16 and $30 respectively. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
