What products qualify to IKEA Buyback & Resell service?
All eligible items that qualify for the buyback service should be in good, resaleable condition, and they should be clean and unmodified. Products also need to be fully functional and properly assembled when returned.
The IKEA Buyback & Resell service intends to make sure your second-hand IKEA products get a new home, and we want to ensure that Buyback products purchased by other customers are of a high quality. The service is currently only set up to handle complete, assembled and fully functional pieces of used IKEA furniture from the categories listed below. All items must be returned clean, unmodified and in good, resellable condition. If a product is returned not fully and correctly assembled to IKEA’s satisfaction, we will not be able to provide an offer. They must be fully owned by you and not carry any hidden debts or security interests.
We only accept original IKEA products that can be recognised by us as IKEA products, bearing an original IKEA product sticker and/or the IKEA logo.
We cannot accept component parts on their own, they must be part of a completely assembled piece of furniture, i.e. we do not accept doors without the frame to attach them to.
The specific products that are eligible for the buyback service are not listed here but will include the following:
- All dressers, office drawer cabinets, small structures with drawers, display storage, sideboards
- Bookcases and shelf units
- Small tables (including laptop tables)
- Multimedia furniture
- Cabinets
- Dining tables and desks (excluding gaming desks with power supply)
- Chairs and stools (excl upholstered or leather chairs and stools)
- Chest of drawers
- Children’s products (excluding mattresses and textiles)
- Complementary bedroom products (clothes rails, dressing tables & free-standing mirrors)
- Kitchen furniture (trolleys, step stools & free-standing kitchen islands)
- Plant pot stands and indoor pots
- Home decoration products (artificial plants and flowers, vales & bowls, mirrors, picture frames & picture ledges)
- Home organisation products (boxes & baskets, shoe cabinets & shoe racks)
- Table and floor lights
Are there product restrictions to the IKEA Buyback & Resell service?
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept items from the categories listed below:
- Non-IKEA products
- Component parts (doors, hinges, drawers, etc..)
- Hacked or modified products
- Non-assembled IKEA products
- Products that have been used outside including outdoor furniture
- Beds (excluding extendable children's beds)
- Mattresses & bed textiles (such as blankets and mattress toppers)
- Sofas/armchairs
- Other soft goods (pillows, towels, curtains etc.)
- Kitchens including worktops, cabinets and fronts
- System wardrobes (incl. PAX and interiors)
- Other over-sized items
- Appliances and other electrical items
- Children's mattresses and textiles
- Upholstered or leather products
- Bathroom accessories
- Cookware and tableware
- Rugs

Bring your products to your nearest IKEA store within 30 days of receiving your estimate. At the store, the condition of your products will be examined, and a final price will be given.
