What is IKEAs return policy?

You can only return or exchange products bought from IKEA U.S stores, or from the IKEA U.S. online website. You can also return a product if it has been opened or assembled within 6 months but we do require disassembly if we are picking it up (pickup charges may apply = to your original delivery fee). Mattresses can be exchanged for another mattress up to 90 days. IKEA does not require the original packaging. If you want to exchange an item for a different item, you need to return the original item first and then make a new purchase for the desired product. 

You can return or exchange all IKEA products, except plants, cut fabric, custom countertops and as-is products.  We are unable to refund or exchange your items if your merchandise is found to be modified from its original form, is dirty, stained, or damaged. Any modifications you do to a product such as drilling holes, painting or removing parts during use, will void the warranty, as it no longer functions the way it was designed and may have ruined the integrity of the product's structure. We apologize for any inconvenience.

IKEA will give you a full refund after an assessment has been conducted and IKEA is reasonably satisfied that the products are returned to IKEA in a re-sellable condition.  If you are returning a faulty item (that is not a major repair) that was not damaged by you, IKEA will either replace the item (at no cost to you) or offer you a refund.
