Surprise! This has a open slit in the bottom. Anonymous reviewerBased on past purchases I expected the bottom to either zipper close or be a solid material. The items I received have an open slit in the bottom. If that is intentional, it is poor design as I suspected any small items I might store could slip through. Was this supposed to have a zipper or a solid bottom? The item description should specify and show a picture so buyers like me don't make the mistake of buying this, pulling it out from the bookshelf and contents falling through. Now I have to drive an hour away to return them and pray I find something that will work with a fully enclosed bottom. Depending on use I would not recommend this to a friend unless they only intended to use it in a drawer where the bottom wouldn't matter. 2

These baskets look beautiful in the cabinet i got from Ikea as it is brown black. Very strong and looks very elegant. I think they are very popular as Ikea kept running out of them. Im very happy with my purchase ☺️

Material

What is sedge (or seagrass)?

Sedge (or seagrass) grows naturally in South-East Asian coastal areas. For our products, we mainly use cultivated sedge from field areas that have previously been flooded by the sea, making them unsuitable for rice cultivation. Sedge grows well in salty soils and even helps cleanse them. After harvest, the plant is left to dry in the sun making it a hardwearing fiber ideal for weaving or braiding products with beautiful color variations, like baskets and mats.
