Bamboo block top is unfinished!!BethI am surprised that no one has mentioned this, but the bamboo butcher block top is out of the box unfinished. In the photos online it appears to have a nice honey color finish, but mine is not that way. It is raw and unfinished bamboo. The description online states that the block is made of bamboo and linseed oil, but the top I received is not oiled. There is no mention of this online or in the instructions. I phoned customer service and they did not know. Is it supposed to be unfinished? Is linseed oil what you recommend? It was a high price to pay for a piece of unfinished furniture. 2

Love Love this islandDiannI didn’t know how much I needed this island until we assembled and started using it. It is perfect. The top is really great. Easy to clean. The drawers are very deep and hold all of my smaller items from a scale to various tools. The drawer pulls hold towels so I never have to search for one. The shelves are deep and sturdy. They hold all of my cutting boards, baskets, storage items and pretty bowls. It is the centerpiece now and a lovely one. I cannot find one fault with this island. 5

High End Quality at IKEA PricesRaymondI got this product in on Sunday(1/21/2024) and put it together in a few hours. It was simple enough to do with the instructions despite them not being as detailed as I would like but that's just a small gripe. After assembly, I have to say that the quality of it really is excellent and I'm looking forward to see how it holds up 6-12 months from now.
The Only thing that concerns me are the metal rails. I don't think I'll be putting too much weight on them as the support that holds them in place gives me a slight pause.
All in all, if you have the money to spare then I would absolutely recommend this product.
PS: Don't lose the screws. It comes with exact amounts and they seem a little easy to strip so don't over tighten.5
