Sektion perfectionKeithAssembly went straightforward and finished units fit & function perfectly. As with most of the IKEA products we’ve had these are a good value and definitely worth getting if they fit your need & style.5
Suspension RailingKennethThe suspension railing to hand my wall cabinets were perfect, it made the job so much easier than hanging cabinets the traditional way.5
Instructions are lameCaryIkeas instructions are so discombobulated, dont work with US building norms and leave out simple measurements which would make it so much easier. 2

Very strong PaulMade hanging the cabinet easier and safer 5
I won't hang wall cabinets any other wayJoshI don't get the bad reviews this rail system has. I installed my Sektion kitchen in 2015, so my wall cabinets have been hanging from these rails for almost 10 years now. Some reviews complain they are difficult to cut without the correct tools. That's a you problem, not the product's problem. They easily cut with a metal cutoff wheel or even a hacksaw. The hole spacing isn't a big deal either. Mark every stud. Screw to the wall with what holes do align, and then drill a hole over the stud locations where you need a hole but don't have one. My kitchen has a lot of wall cabinets, my brother and I had all of them up in about 15 minutes with this track, but we are both experienced at carpentry. No leveling individual heavy cabinets, and it holds the weight of the cabinets with no problem.5
not always smoothSergeiThe tires are not always straight; it happens that they are curved in the shape of a parabola, which causes inconvenience when installing kitchens.4

Not right for my counterLeslieMaybe it was me but it was too shallow for the kitchen counter that I bought. 3
That which holds up the wall, or well, the cabinets to the wallEricThese rails to hang (or hold) cabinet boxes to a wall do what the are intended for. The hole pattern and method mounting (a movable metal plate) are simple enough, but some effort is needed to ensure things stay level if a perfect positioning is needed. The pattern of holes in the rail for attaching to studs or blocking is uniform, but I would have benefitted from a doubling of the holes and tighter spacing, since it was going against studs that were not properly x-on-center spaced. Choice of anchor is up to the target surface, so thought needs to to into anchor head to avoid oversized issues and thus problems with mounting cabinets. Cabinets have hardware to "lock" in their position, but can slide along the rails with a little effort or worst case BFI (so be careful).4
Why did you change it?ChrisMore "updated" garbage. The old rails that had the square bolt blocks were great. Hang the rail, didn't even have to be perfectly level Align the bolts, slip the cabinet over, install plates and nuts. Adjust. Boom! Done. Not these new ones that have the plastic hook system. Junk. Stop changing things that worked for years before!!! These are also weaker and need more mounting points. Who has studs on 12" centers? Nobody!1

You can use drywall anchorsJonathanThe rail worked great for hanging floor to ceiling cabinets. I needed six of these ( 3 rows of 2). Luckily for me the length was the exact distance I needed to cover so no cutting required but be sure to have proper tools if needed. For those complaining about USA stud alignment, you do not need to hit a stud if you have proper wall anchors that screw into the wall like the Twist-N-Lock that can hold 75 lbs per screw. Do not use anchors that only expand in a pre-drilled hole. My run was long enough that I did also hit at least two studs per rail. Make sure the rail is PERFECTLY level or you'll have problems with alignment and doors. Also, you MUST shim any spots where the drywall is warped to keep the rail perfectly straight or the cabinet either won't hook on the rail or it will not be plumb next to other cabinets.5
Suspension Rail IssuesRobertI agree with other posters regarding this rail. Ikea needs to spend a couple of bucks and make a rail that works with U.S. standards. (16" OC spacing) The old akurum rails were excellent both in design and strength. I'm sure Ikea has the talent to design such an item; just keep the accounting guys out of the process.2
Made modificationsIgnacioThe pre drilled holes didn’t match the wall studs. I had to drill new holes to match3
Just what is needed...Randy...though much too much extra, in my case anyway. 84" long and I only needed 27"- a shorter option would not waste as much product as my use did. No problem with the product at all, it performed its function perfectly. Any one need ~57" inches of this?:-)5
Makes hanging easierRaulIt is required when mounting to a stud wall. Allows for small shifting of location and retains holding strength5

Hard to cut if you don't have the right toolsMelissaIt would be great if Ikea could cut these pieces to the length you need. I installed my cabinets myself and have a decent amount of tools, but wasn't sure what kind of tool was best to cut this and so I used a saw that probably wasn't meant to cut this.4

A kitchen that took us around the world

Whatever your dream kitchen is, it’s probably different from many other people’s dreams. This we learned when researching kitchen desires around the globe. Our conclusion for the SEKTION kitchen system: it should make it possible to design the best kitchen for you – whatever your preferences and living situation.

Our ambition is to help as many as possible to have a kitchen they'd love to be in. We started sketching. “When we created SEKTION, it was our biggest ever kitchen change, so it's fair to say we were very keen to get it right,” says technician Klas-Ola Nilsson.

Research from around the world

So, what would people’s dream kitchen be like? We surveyed thousands of people, visited hundreds of homes and worked with food industry professionals. “We found if there's one thing in common with kitchens around the world it's that they're different.” Klas-Ola says. “For as many people who dream of an open space kitchen, there are people with a small space, or have to fit a pre-existing room.”

From research to result

One element became blindingly important. “We realized we needed a kitchen system that could adapt to different sized spaces in a way that hadn't been done before,” Klas-Ola says. “So, we developed cabinets that could fit almost anywhere.” Different sizes can be mixed to best fit the room and they'll still fit together – without odd ends. The clever inside can be personalized to support your kitchen needs and activities, too.

Ready for the future

An adaptable kitchen fits better with how you like to cook, both now and in the future. Whether you start craving a more professional kitchen, or just want to start using it for more activities, we would love SEKTION to help out. “There's nothing to say that SEKTION is set and fixed now,” Klas-Ola says. “It's something that's evolving and that we're developing as our ideas on what a kitchen should do changes into the future.”

Material

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.

Function solution

Suspension made quick and easy
