The IKEA 2025 Move in Makeover Sweepstakes Official Rules

Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY AND WILL BE GOVERNED BY U.S. LAW.  DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE AND LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.  Void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.  THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED, OR ADMINISTERED BY, OR ASSOCIATED WITH META PLATFORMS, INC. OR BYTEDANCE LTD (“TIKTOK”).

 

  1. DESCRIPTION: The IKEA 2025 Move in Makeover Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins on July 7, 2025, at 12:00:01 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on July 11, 2025, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (“Sweepstakes Period”).  Five (5) potential Prize (as defined below) winners will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.  Entries received before or outside of the Sweepstakes Period will not be eligible to win the stated Prize, except as otherwise set forth in these official rules (“Official Rules”).  Sponsor’s clock is the official clock for the Sweepstakes.  By participating in the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of IKEA North America Services, LLC, 420 Alan Wood Road Conshohocken, PA 19428 (“Sponsor”), which shall be final and binding in all respects. 
  2. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age (nineteen (19) in AL and NE) or older at time of entry, and who have a public Instagram or TikTok account.  Obtaining an Instagram and/or TikTok social media account is free of charge.  To sign up for an Instagram account, download the mobile app or visit www.instagram.com.  To sign up for a TikTok account, download the app or visit TikTok.com.  Instagram and TikTok Terms of Use apply.  Employees of Sponsor, INGKA Group, the IKEA retail stores, Meta Platforms, Inc., Bytedance Ltd, and each of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, sales representatives, retailers, partners, and their advertising,  promotion and production agencies and all other companies associated with the promotion of the Sweepstakes (collectively, “Sweepstakes Entities”), as well as the immediate family (defined for these purposes as including spouse, parents, children, and siblings and each of their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  Winning a Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in the Official Rules.  
  3. HOW TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES: During the Sweepstakes Period, eligible individuals may enter the Sweepstakes as follows:
    (i)Log onto your personal Instagram or TikTok account and ensure that your account is set to public;
    (ii) Follow @ikeausa by searching for the @ikeausa profile on Instagram or TikTok and then click the “Follow” button;  
    (iii) Comment on the @ikeausa “The IKEA 2025 Move in Makeover Sweepstakes” post on Instagram or TikTok (to be first published on or about July 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. ET):
    • Tag “@” one (1) friend using their Instagram or TikTok handle;   
    • The caption of the post must include the hashtag “#IKEAsweepstakes” (the “Post”).  All Posts must comply with the Submission Requirements set forth below.  Upon submission of the Post with the required hashtag, the individual is deemed an “entrant” for purposes of the Sweepstakes and will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes.  LIMIT: ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON, REGARDLESS OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM.  Any posts that fail to include the required “@” tagged social media account, the required hashtag, or otherwise follow the instructions herein will be void and considered ineligible for the Sweepstakes. 

    Any participant who posts after the close of the Sweepstakes Period, or who makes a Post that is not in compliance with these Official Rules, will not be given an entry into the Sweepstakes.  During the Sweepstakes Period, your Instagram or TikTok account must be set to “public” and able to receive direct messages to participate.  Multiple participants are not permitted to share an Instagram and/or TikTok account.  Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different Instagram or TikTok accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant’s entries, and that participant may be disqualified from the entire Sweepstakes.  Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification.  In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the Instagram or TikTok used to register will be deemed to be the entrant.  The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address or social media account by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses or social media accounts for the domain associated with the email address used to register the Instagram or TikTok account.  The potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder of the Instagram or TikTok account associated with the winning entry.  All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned.  

    All entries must comply with the submission requirements set forth below (the “Submission Requirements”).  
    • MUST be in the English language;
    • MUST be viewable and accessible for at least thirty (30) days following the expiration of the Sweepstakes Period;
    • MUST comply with terms of use and other related policies and guidelines in connection with using Instagram, or TikTok;
    • MUST NOT contain material which is (or promote activities which are) dangerous, harmful, sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, self-mutilating, discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing;
    • MUST NOT include any private information of a third party such as name, address, phone number or email address;
    • MUST NOT disparage the Sponsor, or their products or services, or any other person or party affiliated with the promotion and administration of the Sweepstakes;
    • MUST NOT include mention or performance of any copyrighted media production, including, but not limited to, music, films, books, television programming, etc., or identifying descriptions of any media property, except to the extent that such use constitutes a clear fair use, or the copyright owner has expressly consented to such use;
    • MUST NOT contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including, but not limited to, material that violates privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement; • Entries must not include third-party trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, photographs, artwork, sculptures, music, or images of any kind;
    • Entry cannot promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, e-cigarettes, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message, or any activity which promotes excessive drinking, binge drinking, drinking beyond the legal permissible limit, etc;
    • Entry cannot include any materials relating to lotteries or gambling;
    • Entry cannot be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group;
    • Entry cannot communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate; Sending a direct message to @ikeausa or responding to a story with a direct message is not a valid entry. 
  4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: On or around July 15, 2025, Sponsor will randomly select five (5) potential winners (three (3) on Instagram and two (2) on TikTok) from among the eligible entries submitted during the Sweepstakes Period.   Sponsor will notify the potential winners by direct message (from @ikeausa) on the Instagram or TikTok account associated with the applicable entry.  There will be a total of five (5) winners during the Sweepstakes Period.  The potential Prize winners must respond to Sponsor within forty-eight (48) hours of notification or Sponsor reserves the right to select another potential Prize winner from among all eligible entries.  The potential winners will be subject to verification of eligibility, and may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form (“Release”) within forty-eight (48) hours from notification. 

    If a potential winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, or if Prize notification or any Prize is returned as undeliverable, or if a potential winner cannot collect the Prize within the designated time, the potential winner will be disqualified.  In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prize to an alternate entrant who will also be selected randomly, even if the disqualified potential winner’s name may have been publicly announced.  Sponsor is not responsible for any change of email address, mailing address, and/or telephone number of entrants.  If a Prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value.  Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may attempt to contact up to three (3) potential winners of a Prize in accordance with the above procedure, after which the Prize in question may go unawarded if it remains unclaimed.  
  5. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES (ARV)/ODDS: Five (5) Prizes – Each of the five (5) winners will receive the following item: one (1) $200 IKEA gift card (collectively, the “Prize”).  Total Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of all Prizes awarded in this Sweepstakes: $1,000.00.

    The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.  Unclaimed Prizes will not be awarded.  The winners may not substitute, assign, or transfer the Prize or redeem the Prize for cash.  All applicable federal, state, and local taxes on the Prizes are the sole responsibility of the Prize winners.  Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied, by Sponsor.  No returns/exchanges.  Prizes will be mailed to each verified Prize winner at the mailing address provided during winner verification within approximately 4-6 weeks.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, intercepted, or Prizes otherwise not received.  Sponsor may replace lost, late, intercepted or Prizes otherwise not received at its sole discretion.  Terms and conditions of gift card apply; see gift card for details.  If required by law, winner(s) will be issued a 1099 tax form for the Prize value.  
  6. PUBLICITY RELEASE: Except where legally prohibited, a winner’s acceptance of a Prize constitutes the winner’s agreement and consent for Sponsor to use the winner’s name, portrait, picture, likeness, photograph, voice, biographical information, statements, and/or Prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes in connection with the Sweepstakes for any and all media now known or developed in the future, throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation, limitation, restriction, notice, review or approval. 
  7. GENERAL: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Sweepstakes should fraud, virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or proper use of the website.  Failure to provide any requested information to verify eligibility, and/or non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in forfeiture of the Prize and an alternate winner may be selected.   

    By participating this Sweepstakes and/or accepting a Prize, entrants and winners release and agree to hold harmless the Sweepstakes Entities, their respective parent companies, affiliates, directors, employees, officers and agents from any and all liability for injury, loss, harm, cost, expense or damage of any kind, including but not limited to personal injury, death or loss of property arising from or in connection with participation in the Sweepstakes, creation and use of the Post, or the awarding, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any Prize and/or with respect to participation in any Prize-related activity.  Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in printing, offering, announcement or administration of the Sweepstakes.   
  8. LIMITATIONS AND RELEASES: Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late or invalid entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information or a Prize by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, or any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any Prize.  Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.  Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and all of his or her entries) who tampers with the entry process. 
  9. DISPUTES: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that any disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Sweepstakes, or any Prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any class action and all claims, awards and judgments shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees.  No entrant is permitted to obtain any award for, and waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages.  Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the validity, construction, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  In addition, any dispute relating to the Sweepstakes or Official Rules shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal court having jurisdiction over the subject matter located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  Entrants hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of said courts and waive any claim of forum non conveniens or lack of personal jurisdiction they may have. 
  10. PRIVACY: For information about how Sponsor uses your personal information, please see our privacy policy at https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-service/privacy-policy/.  If you are selected as a winner, your information may also be included in a publicly available winner’s list. 
  11. WINNER’S LIST: For the names of the winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to “IKEA 2025 Move in Makeover Sweepstakes” – Winner’s List, c/o IKEA North America Services, LLC, 420 Alan Wood Road, Conshohocken, PA 19428, Attn: Marketing Department.  Requests for a winner’s list must be received ninety (90) days after the winners of the Sweepstakes are chosen.
