How to save water at home?

ÄLMAREN water tap

Of all the water in the world, less than 3% is fresh.

Living thoughtfully with regard to our environment is a 24/7 job, and can be tricky at times. So the careful use of it makes sense – financially and environmentally. Thankfully, some modern products can do water-saving for you.

Mind the tap!

We all know the importance of good hand hygiene. Every drop of water makes a big difference for you and the planet.

Our ergonomically designed water-saving nozzle, ÅBÄCKEN, reduces your water tap consumption by up to 95%. This easy-to-clean tap adaptor allows you to live hygienically and more sustainably, without compromising on your daily habits.

Optimise your water use by choosing one of two different features - mist and spray mode. Every ÅBÄCKEN nozzle can be easily mounted on a standard tap.

Use less water with the ÅBÄCKEN mist nozzle, which fits most wash-basin mixer taps. Choose the right flow for washing your hands or brushing your teeth, and enjoy the refreshing feeling of saving water and energy every time you run the tap.

Take some pressure off

Every IKEA kitchen tap is designed to reduce water consumption by up to 40% – while maintaining a steady flow of water. This means you can lower your water usage and your bills; and at the same time, relieve some of the pressure to conserve our planet.

Dishwashers

Do IKEA's dishwashers make all your dirty dishes sparkling clean? Of course! Every IKEA dishwasher saves both water and energy - as compared to hand washing, which usually requires 5 times as much water.

Water and energy saving showers

All our shower heads and hand showers are water and energy-efficient. This is achieved by a flow regulator, which reduces the water flow. You’ll save up to 30% water and energy compared to a shower without a flow regulator. And less water may be delivered, but you won't notice any difference in the water pressure.
