Tips and ideas for your kid's craft room

Whatever its size, a dedicated arts and crafts area at home can give your kids – and you – space for creative sparks to fly. If you are dreaming of a craft area, we’ve got the ideas to help you work out how to bring it to life. We can’t promise it won’t get messy, but we can help to make it easier to tidy up afterwards.

Get crafty in the living room!

A kid's craft room in the living room is not as daunting as it seems. It makes it easier for you to join in, or be on hand to help. The trick is to use furniture that blends into the space. Pay attention to lighting, then finish with good storage – this SKÅDIS pegboard combination keeps things accessible and off the floor.

A one-stop art station

Here’s a super useful way to keep favourite pens and pencils near the paper when you don’t have lots of space. Store it with the paper itself! Then you can simply spread out some paper from this MÅLA paper roll on the table, pick up the art materials and get started. When the artwork is complete, simply tear it off, hang it up and roll out more paper ready in your kid's craft room.

Anywhere can be a craft area!

It might be the kitchen table, or it might be the floor. Crafting can take place anywhere. All you need to add are paper and pens.
