This storage unit is perfect for plant pots and plants ⎼ and can easily be transformed into a greenhouse if you complete with HYLLIS cover.
Can be used both indoors and outdoors, and is just as suitable on the balcony as in the kitchen, hallway or bathroom.
With HYLLIS cover you protect your things from rain and dust, sold separately.
The cover is easy to put on and remove.
At the top of the cover there is an opening that allows air to circulate.
If you want a larger storage solution, you can combine several shelving units from the same series.

Pragmatic Purposes StoragesY.Hyllis shelf is a very simple design that meet users basic needs.
Could not fit into myPhilipCould not fit into my car so I tried to use my spanners to unscrew some of the connections. I managed to unscrew a few screws but could not remove end plank .
In my effort to achieve that I forcefully moved the end plank to get it into the car.
I then brought it home to re-assemble . There were several different bolts and screws. and it was difficult to assemble the table . Inn then end we had to force the pieces together and then use nails to hold it together.
I think because the way of assembly is now much more difficult I will have to look elsewhere to buy
my household furniture and fittings.

Terrible qualitySanjayEven as an experienced assembler of many IKEA furniture, the build quality is so poor it took a lot of effort to put it together. The screw holes did not align and the screws would pop out from one side as I tightened the other side. The iron was not folded enough for the screws to be tightened and required another person to apply a lot of force to somehow align the holes. Had to use a power driver to tighten the screws.

Simple rackTanAppears as a simple rack to fix but badly aligned and impossible to assemble. Have since returned to IKEA. Fortunately I did not purchase 2 pieces at the same time.
Hyllis for seedsOverall Hyllis shelves are great but the drop side is putting it together. It takes a lot of afford assembling the pieces together and if you don't have a drill, you need some brute strength. Maybe some of the holes aren't align well.

Story
HYLLIS creates room for life on the balcony
Some of us live smaller than we’d like. It often means a constant hunt for more space. So why not try and use the space we have in smarter ways? This was something our product developers wanted to help out with when they created a small version of HYLLIS – a shelf that fits almost anywhere – and can be used if you want to grow your own herbs and small plants.
Philip Dilé, one of the members in the development team behind HYLLIS, live in an apartment with balcony in southern Sweden. “My balcony is filled with stuff. I’d like to use it for something other than storage, and I think many of our customers feel the same way.”

“I grow herbs myself. It saves money and it’s fun to see life sprout on your own balcony. I think people who live in cities should be able to grow small plants and herbs too, even if they don’t have access to a garden,” says Philip. With HYLLIS shelf and cover they can do it in a small scale and use the balcony for more things than storing – a greener life and a smarter use of space at home.
