Make your own plant pods (it’s a gift that grows)

Give someone green fingers! Or at least the sensation of being naturally good at gardening. See here how to prepare plant pods that will sprout like magic.

1. Create fertile soil

Shred paper napkins into fine pieces.

2. Soak and strain

Pour water on your pulp and let it soak. Strain most of the liquid away (go for moist, not wet).

3. Form discs

Divide evenly into cups or similar shapes (a thin layer in each will do). Sprinkle seeds of your choice on top while still moist, and let the pods air-dry (no heating).

4. Spread the joy

You now have pods packed with plant power, ready to be set in a flower pot with soil, watered and sprout their seeds. Perfect for themed gifts that keep on giving.
