What tests have been done on your mixer taps?

Our mixer taps undergo numerous tests to ensure that they meet European standards and maintain a high quality. All our mixer taps are tested and certified according to relevant European mechanical, quality, safety and hygiene standards, including KIWA.

All IKEA taps are carefully tested to meet EU standards. This means that each tap is tested for at least 70,000 cycles, during which the tap is opened and closed three times per cycle. To ensure even higher quality, we have chosen to go beyond the requirements and instead test up to 150,000 cycles – more than twice as many.
We also check the content of heavy metals in the water in accordance with Nordic standards, where our taps meet the strictest requirements with a good margin. If there is still concern about heavy metals, it may be advisable to let the water run for a few seconds before using it as drinking water.
In addition, sound tests are carried out, where our taps meet Class 1 or Class 2 standards. Taps in Class 1 are generally not perceived as disturbing in a home environment.
In summary, our taps not only comply with all European standards, but also meet our own, more comprehensive quality requirements.
