What certifications do IKEA taps have?
When you choose an IKEA tap, you can feel safe. Our taps are type-approved and meet all the requirements of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations (BBR) – a guarantee of safety and quality. The certification is done by independent actors such as SP Certification and KIWA, and our products are approved by both. From 1 July 2025, all our faucets are also Safe Water certified.
IKEA taps are inspected by an independent inspection body that ensures that they are manufactured according to current market requirements.
Before a tap is salable, it has been both tested and approved and each product undergoes further testing before it leaves the factory – all to ensure you get a safe and reliable product.
You can find the approval number from SP Certification or KIWA both on the front of the package and on the label on the hoses for the tap – so you can easily see that your tap is certified.
On our website, you can see the Safe Water logo and RSK number directly on the product page and when you are inside and looking at our taps.
