What do I do if my mixer tap rusts?

IKEA mixer taps are manufactured with coatings that prevent rust. If rust appears in the water, it is most likely coming from your water pipes, and in such cases we recommend that you contact a plumbing technician. If the rust is coming from your mixer tap and it is still within the warranty period, we recommend that you contact us and we will help you further.

As mixer taps are exposed to contact with water during normal use, they are designed to counteract rust, both through the choice of materials and coatings. Therefore, if you experience rust in the water, it is more likely to be residue from the water pipes in your home. In such cases, a plumbing technician can help identify the source.
If you experience rust directly on your mixer tap, or if you continue to experience rust in the water despite having the water pipes checked, please contact our Customer Service. For faster handling, please have your purchase documentation ready, such as your receipt or an order number.
