The burner on my gas hob doesn't ignite, why is that?

If the burner on your gas hob doesn't ignite, it's usually because it's dirty and clogged, or that it's not connected to the electricity grid. For safety reasons, the gas should be turned off and IKEA customer support contacted.

If the burner on your gas hob does not ignite it may be because it's not connected to the electricity grid, then the electric ignition wont work and you will need to light it manually with matches or a lighter.
It can also be because it is dirty or clogged with food residues and grease, this can prevent the gas from flowing properly. In this case, turn off the gas tap or gas cylinder immediately if you are using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). If you have gas supply from the city gas network, you should instead turn off the gas via the grid connection. After you turn off the gas supply please contact our customer service for further help and advice.
