How do I remove stains from stainless steel cookware?
Since there are different types of stains, there are also different solutions to remove them. For example, an effective trick to get rid of burnt-on food is to boil water with a dishwasher tablet for a few minutes in the affected cookware.
- Burnt-on food: Pour water into the saucepan, place in a dishwasher tablet and bring to the boil for a few minutes. Then rinse out and scrape if necessary with the dish brush.
- Black little dots: Small black dots appear if salt is poured in before the water boils. This can be removed by adding vinegar to the bottom of the pot and letting it boil.
- Rainbow-colored film: A rainbow-colored film usually occurs due to metals in the water, which is normal. It can be removed by rubbing the surface with a lemon or polish (such as Autosol).
