How do I prevent food from sticking to my stainless steel frying pan?
Stainless steel frying pans, such as HEMKOMST, do not have a non-stick surface of Teflon coating. However, a simple oil treatment can make the pans more resistant to food sticking.
Here is how to do it:
- Place the frying pan on a burner and cover the bottom with cooking oil.
- Turn on the heat and warm the oil until just before it starts to smoke, then let it cool down completely.
- Wipe off the oil with a paper towel.
An invisible layer will form that makes it harder for food to stick. by repeatig this proess regularly, the surface becomes seasoned. However, keep in mind that if you use dish soap afterward, the treatment will need to be repeated.
Note: This method only applies to frying pans and pots made of stainless steel or cast iron tht do not have a coated cooking surface.
