When do I need to use METOD ventilation grilles?

METOD ventilation grilles are used to create an air duct for appliances that require ventilation. The ventilation grille can be placed both in a worktop or at a ceiling connection. METOD ventilated plinth is placed in the plinth. Our integrated fridges and freezers always need a ventilated plinth*.

*The refrigerators and freezers for the substructure FASTNÄS, TYLLSNÄS and YTTERNÄS do not need a ventilated plinth as it is ventilated above the plinth.
If you have a ceiling connection above your fridge and freezer, you will need a ventilation grille in the ceiling connection as well. The same goes for a built-in extractor hood with recirculation mode, fitted with charcoal filter. Keep in mind that the grille is 95mm high and needs a few cm above and below to be installed.
