Do I need to cut out the back of the METOD base cabinet for built-in oven/sink?
To make your installation as smooth as possible, our METOD base cabinets for built-in oven and sink (60 and 80 cm) come with a pre‑cut opening in the bottom panel. The white 80 cm cabinets also include an additional cut‑out in the back panel, making it both easier and safer to route pipes and cables.
- The built-in oven should always be installed in a 60 cm cabinet.
- The size of the hob needs to match the width of the cabinet.
- Follow local water and electricity regulations, and get help from a qualified installer when needed.

Placing a washing machine or tumble dryer on top of an IKEA cabinet might seem like a space-saving solution, but safety is an important consideration. Instead, we recommend using stable platforms or furniture designed to stand around or above the machine.
