A Scandinavian dining room for life’s big and little moments

Simple, natural and homely. The kitchen might be the heart of the home, but the family dining room is where things really happen – it’s where we gather, catch up on homework, and celebrate life’s little (and big) moments. Inspired by Swedish tradition, this room features a wooden PINNTORP table and four chairs in blue-stained solid pine, infusing fresh personality and warmth into this all-important family space.

Enjoy the natural style of a solid wood dining table set

The beautiful grain of the wood, the simple lines, and the fresh tones of light brown and blue, PINNTORP dining table and chairs create a warm and durable space where everyone – big and small – feels at home. Practical and welcoming, this is where morning pancakes meet evening chats, and everyday moments turn into memories.

Set the table for connection and a relaxed feel

Small décor details are often the touches that bring your table to life. As well as candles and vases, why not go for items that let you combine practicality with making a style statement? Like these thick FRUKTDUVA goblets and the OLIVTRAST serving set in warm solid walnut. Together with GLADELIG dinnerware, these rounded shapes, grounding colours and tactile materials set the table in this calm Scandinavian dining room where everyone can relax and be themselves.

Shelves, trolleys and cabinets – think of storage in creative ways

Whether it’s games night with your family, coffee with the neighbours, or a study day before an exam, this multi-purpose hub can transform – with ease. A space-wise RÅSKOG trolley with two lockable wheels offers flexible, movable storage for pencils and other little essentials. A FRYKSÅS cabinet, made with natural rattan and acacia wood, and a pine IVAR cabinet, here given a personalised paint job, let you tidy away things like plates, tablecloths and board games behind closed doors. While a HAUGA sideboard lets you both display your favourites and hide the rest.

Many things, including plates, tablecloths and white VARIERA shelf inserts sit on the shelves of an open FRYKSÅS cabinet.

More personal and inviting with textiles

Home textiles might be the final, yet essential, layer of your dining area. Here, LENDA curtains, VIPPÄRT chair pads and a wall hanging made from BLÅRAPUNKEL pre-cut fabric make the space feel more personal and comfortable. They can also help dampen sounds and keep the hustle and bustle of the city out, making your home a peaceful oasis. Your dining room becomes as inviting as your menu.

Three lamps can change the entire feeling of a space

With different lights to play with, you can create the right atmosphere for every occasion. A SJÖMAKT pendant lamp shines down to brighten up mealtimes. It adds a nostalgic touch and it’s easy to get the right height with the cord adjuster. For soft, warm mood lighting, you can use a TÄRNABY table lamp. It has a built-in dimmer and a look based on traditional kerosene lamps. Finally, the HEKTAR wall/clamp spotlight, inspired by old factory and theatre lamps, makes sure a decorative detail like these flowers gets the attention it deserves.
