TIDVATTEN Vase, clear glass, 14 cm (5 ½ ")

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

"In a transparent vase, the beauty in the flowers, the stems and the water’s playful surface becomes a given part of the expression. When designing TIDVATTEN vase and bowl, I wanted to create a toned down, almost anonymous shape where attention to individual detail still gives the product a distinct quality. The bottom’s small bulge is magnified and reflected when water is poured in and it acts like a lens, the vase's eye. A sign from the past that also drives tradition forward."
