10-year guarantee
Japanese designer Noboru Nakamura is the man behind the successful POÄNG armchair, launched in 1977. In 2022 he removed the headrest – a new design as it now owns its place in the Nytillverkad collection.
Product details
Part of the Nytillverkad collection where several IKEA classics have been given a new look.
POEM armchair, later renamed POÄNG, was shown for the first time on the cover of our 1977 catalogue. Then with a headrest.
In 2022, Noboru Nakamura changed the design by removing the headrest. A new, compact and modern look, yet the rocking feature and comfort of the layer-glued and bent wooden frame remained the same.
10-year limited warranty. Read about the terms in the limited warranty brochure.

"POEM armchair, later renamed POÄNG, is one of our most successful products. It is designed by Japanese designer Noboru Nakamura and was launched on the cover of our 1977 catalogue. In 2022, Noboru Nakamura changed the design by removing the headrest. The expression became new, compact and modern, yet the rocking feature and comfort of the layer-glued and bent wooden frame remained the same. Well deserving of a place of honor in the Nytillverkad collection."
