The Alex drawers I receivedMarieThe Alex drawers I received appear to have a factory defect. The drawer fronts are not properly aligned and do not sit flush with each other. The Mober installer inspected the unit and advised that the issue seems to be caused by defective slider guides from the factory rather than the assembly. As a result, the drawer faces are uneven and noticeably misaligned, which affects the overall appearance and quality of the unit.

The upgrade my workspace neededAbegailI got the LAGKAPTEN / ALEX setup thinking it would be a simple, budget-friendly desk, but it’s honestly become the most functional piece in my workspace.
Assembly was straightforward, but what surprised me most was how clean and put-together it looks once everything is in place. The ALEX drawers are the real MVP, they glide smoothly, hold more than expected, and keep all the random clutter out of sight. It makes a huge difference if you like your desk looking minimal but still need storage.
The LAGKAPTEN tabletop is lightweight, which makes setup easy, but you can tell it’s not solid wood. That said, it holds up well for everyday use, laptop, monitor, notebooks, and even a bit of leaning during long work sessions. I wouldn’t overload it or treat it roughly, but for a home office or study setup, it does the job really well.
What I appreciate most is how customizable it feels. You can dress it up depending on your vibe, clean and minimal, cozy, or even a bit aesthetic with plants and lights.
If you’re expecting something ultra heavy-duty, this isn’t it. But if you want a practical, good-looking desk that keeps things organised without breaking the bank, this combo is hard to beat.
