Need to work but struggling to focus? A personalised, well-ordered desk area can inspire you to start a project and complete it! Take a look at Dagmara’s workspace for ideas that balance focus and fun.
Express your creativity by taping and clipping up prints and pictures, making an eclectic mood board that’s also easy to change when you want a new inspiration point. Dagmara used a vintage IKEA wall trellis, but a wire grid frame like MYRHEDEN works just as well. Use boxes and desktop organizers in different styles, sizes, and shapes to keep papers and tools tidy while adding visual interest. “Sticking to just a few colors will help keep everything looking ordered,” says IKEA co-worker Dagmara, who showed us how she put her desk area together. And don’t forget plants – they help reduce stress and boost creativity.

“I worked as a teacher before I joined IKEA. I used to spend many hours working at home, sitting at my desk,” says Dagmara. “When we finished decorating my daughter Hania’s bedroom I started a blog about kids’ rooms. Now Hania likes to use this space to do her homework, too.”
