Set my mind on STYRSPEL but ended up with MARKUSAnonymous reviewerTrust people on Reddit when they tell you to go for MARKUS. Initially, I was set on getting the STYRSPEL because the seat was made of mesh (vs your conventional cotton chairs) and would be much easier to clean, but boy was I proved wrong so hard. I tested out the chair at IKEA Damansara, thought it was not too bad, but was slightly deterred by the 3-year warranty and the higher price tag. Thus, being the Asian that I am, I wanted to weigh out my options. I then casually strolled over to the MARKUS and sat myself down, and was instantly sold. Aside from the slight curved support you get for your lower back (which I am loving too), the chair is solid and the headrest provides comfort you never knew you needed nor existed. It also helps that MARKUS comes with a 10-year warranty so you know you're in good hands if anything ever happens. In short, trust when people on Reddit tell you to buy the MARKUS. You won't be disappointed.5

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
