Oak is an exceedingly strong and durable hardwood with a prominent grain. It darkens beautifully with age acquiring a golden-brown undertone.

The solid oak construction is both durable and elegant, and pairs excellently with my ash veneer Lisabo chairs. The "floating" table top is another stand out design feature. Every time I walk by my Morbylanga, I am grinning from ear to ear. I consider this as money well spent and highly recommend it.

There is a groove in between the table top and support leg frame. This groove gives the impression as though the top is suspended in the air. It's quite an effect.
Apart from that, the oak colours, proportions and overall wood grain detailing make this - in my opinion - the best dining table IKEA has to offer. This is undoubtedly my #1 IKEA purchase so far.
